Meet the Trainer šŸ’ŖšŸ‹ļøā€ā™‚ļø

Hi, my name is Stacy McDougall, and I am the owner of Strength in 2 Fitness. I am currently in my 27th year as a fitness professional, and I absolutely LOVE my job. There’s nothing else I would rather be doing, truly.

Playing sports, being part of a team, and pushing myself to be the best version of myself—both in sports and on a personal level—has always been a goal of mine.

When I was younger, I was the kid who was liked by many teachers, but I also drove them nuts! I couldn’t stop moving; I had a hard time sitting still and a very busy brain. My grade 3 teacher recognized that if I ran before school, I did much better. She started having the class run on a daily basis before school started. I didn’t know she did that specifically for me until my grade 8 graduation! I credit my love for running to that grade 3 teacher. Very early on, she taught me how to connect movement with joy and calm, and she also showed me my competitive side; I was always trying to beat my time from the day before. I ran cross country from elementary school through high school, competed at OFSAA, and joined the college cross country team, where I placed in the top 5 among Canadian colleges. Throughout elementary and high school, I played every sport available to me but quickly discovered how much I loved playing baseball and hockey. I played rep hockey and rep baseball throughout my teenage years, developing strong connections and amazing memories.

I contribute much of my passion and joy for fitness to all the sports I played, the people I played with, and, most importantly, the amazing coaches. My coaches and teammates helped me grow, challenged me, and together we celebrated our wins. I attribute my love for coaching to the incredible coaches I had growing up; they taught me to step up to the challenge, embrace losses, and learn how to do better next time.

I am so thankful that I followed my passion for fitness and health. I have been blessed over the years and am even more grateful that clients have allowed me to help them reach their own goals. I am inspired daily by anyone who is willing to set a goal, show up, and fight for it. I love it—so thank you! šŸ™

My love for fitness carried into my education. I attended Loyalist College and received a two-year Fitness and Health diploma. I became a certified personal trainer, group instructor, and specialized in pre-and postnatal fitness. I continued to build on my education and became a nutrition and wellness specialist, as well as a holistic and hormonal specialist. I have continued learning regularly, with a major focus on women’s health, specifically menopause.

Years later, I had two beautiful girls, who quickly became my heart and my reason for everything. After having my first daughter, I realized that being a mom and being present in her life was my priority. I gave notice to my personal training job and embraced the idea of starting my own business. The name Strength in 2 Fitness came to life with the idea of Teagan and me working together as a team. From there, I started my business with a focus on pre- and postnatal fitness, and Teagan was my sidekick everywhere I went. Three years later, Paige joined us as our additional sidekick. My girls were a huge part of building my business, especially in my first few years. They were packed around from park to park, beaches, and any other place I could use for a workout! I am proud to say Strength in 2 Fitness just celebrated its 20th anniversary. I am so thankful to have a career that I was able to share with my girls, this community, and the amazing Strength in 2 Fitness team.

Over time, being a mom became such a priority that I forgot about myself. I lost a bit of my identity and felt unhappy. I felt lost and needed to find a way to reconnect with myself. I was a mom now, but I didn’t need to lose myself entirely. I decided to turn back to the one thing that always helped me reconnect: running. I have competed in multiple half marathons and a handful of marathons. I qualified for the Boston Marathon, which was a lifetime goal of mine, and ran it the following year! The following year, I ran in the Vancouver BMO Half Marathon, where I placed 8th overall for women with a time of 1 hour and 31 minutes, and I achieved a personal best in my marathon of 3 hours and 20 minutes. I share my success in running to encourage any mother or father that your goals and aspirations can still be met after having children. In addition to my love of running, over the past 10 years, I have fallen in love with hiking, adventure racing (Tough Mudder, MOMAR, Femsport), and mountain biking. There’s nothing more thrilling than flying down a mountain, feeling like a kid again, outside in nature, and loving every minute.

My goal as a coach and for myself is to NEVER stop moving and to find new ways to challenge myself. One day, I want to be the old lady in the retirement center climbing over the wall! Who’s with me ā˜ļø

Meet the trainer

It goes without saying how much we all love Audra ā¤ļø. She was once a client and quickly asked to become part of our team. Her energy is contagious, her dance moves and ability to make everyone feel welcome has always been her strength. I am so happy that I picked you off the floor lol

Hi, I'm Audra. I walked into my first gym at the age of 42. I was tired of hating my body and all the things I felt I couldn't do. I've struggled with weight and nutrition my whole life, being a size 16, a size 6 and everything in between. Fitness gave me my life back when I discovered there's no better feeling than moving and throwing those weights around!!!

Closing in on 57, I'm proud of my accomplishments since embracing movement. I've completed 15 Spartan races, 5 Femsport competitions and a Masters Festivus Games competition. Over the years, I've been lucky to learn from many amazing trainer/coaches and 6 years ago, found my love of teaching group fitness, strength training and 1 on 1 training. In 2025, I completed a 70 hour kettlebell teacher program. This took my love for kettlebells to a whole new level. I'm so thankful for Stacy opening up opportunities that were never on my radar. I cherish the direction my life has taken.

I love helping people find their self confidence through movement. It's a delicate/frustrating understanding that sometimes it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back, but the shift happens when we get out of our own way and keep showing up for ourselves.

I've been you, I am you and I got you!!!

Meet the trainer -Mason

Although Mason is the newest addition to our team he feels like he has been here forever. His experience and expertise certainly stand out. Thank you Mason for joining our fitness family and bringing your own unique training šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø

I was born and raised in Victoria, I developed a passion for athletics early on through lacrosse, competing at a high level throughout high school before earning the opportunity to play Division I lacrosse at Drexel University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and went on to play professionally in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

After two Achilles tendon surgeries ultimately brought my playing career to an end, I shifted my focus toward helping others achieve their own athletic and fitness goals. Over the past 10 years, I’ve built my career as a personal trainer, training hockey, lacrosse, and tennis athletes. In addition to coaching, I work full-time as a pipelayer for the District of Saanich, contributing to the development and maintenance of critical water infrastructure systems in the community.

My approach to training is rooted in both experience and resilience—understanding firsthand what it takes to overcome setbacks, build strength, and perform at a high level. I’m passionate about helping clients move better, get stronger, and stay consistent for the long term through proper nutrition and lifting mechanics to build the strength, size, and explosiveness needed to perform in their sports.

I’m proud to now be part of the team at Strength in 2 Fitness, a place I was introduced to through my mom, Carla, who has been a long-time member. Joining the gym has been such a positive influence thank to all your wonderful members and staff. I look forward to continuing to help you all reach your health and fitness goals.

Meet The Trainer!!

Many of you know Lisa well….she has been with us for a long time!! It’s been amazing to not only be part of Lisa’s journey as a coach but also be witness to her build her teaching career and most importantly her beautiful family. Thank you for being part of the Strength in 2 Fitness

My fitness journey:

I grew up in North Van and played all the sports; swim racing, softball, field hockey, volleyball, track & field, but basketball and soccer I played the most, and basketball was my favourite. When I left high school I played intramurals a bit, tried some new things like rowing, but I also started working out and running regularly. I ran my first half marathon in 2012, and since have run 19 of them, 1 full marathon, and numerous 10k races. I’ve also done some Tough Mudders and a Spartan Race. Running has always been an escape and a challenge for me, as well as social time with friends. Working out became something I craved. It was stress release, made me feel good and happy, and when I missed it I noticed. I’ve done lots of different types over the years, but strength training is my love. I built up my trap bar to 300lbs, barbell deadlift to 250lbs, bench press to 105lbs, and 10 unassisted strict pull-ups.

Pregnancy was not kind to me. Through my first pregnancy I was active, I taught classes, I ran, I worked out. I gained a TON of weight and, after having Gray, I did not lose it quickly or easily. I was working out and running again fairly quickly, but was SO frustrated to not be losing the weight I gained while pregnant. During my second pregnancy, I wasn’t able to run as much, but continued to workout lots. After having Eevie, I dropped back to my pre-baby #2 weight much quicker. I was running and working out again, but for some reason it came off. I am NOT the weight I was before having kids, but I’m close to the strength.

Celebrating 20 years is phenomenal but even more important is to celebrate the team who has helped me along the way 🄰

MEET THE TRAINERS RenƩe

My name is RenƩe, and I am a certified trainer and advocate for health and wellness. I am a mother of 3, a stepmother and a grandmother.

I have lived on the island most of my life and have also raised my, very active family here. I feel so blessed to live on and enjoy such a beautiful place.

I am fortunate enough to have enjoyed a few careers in my life. I have owned a few of my own businesses, including Curves for women and an aesthetic salon. I worked in several capacities within the beauty industry, one of my most rewarding jobs within this industry was my time with Aveda. I also worked for SD 62 as a noon hour supervisor and an educational assistant with high needs children and ran the afterschool care program for kids club. My time with SD 62 was very rewarding and life-changing.

I have been passionate about health, fitness and sports for most of my life, having had success in many sports growing up. I’m a firm believer that you must try and move your body and stay active every day. This is a lifestyle that I will not compromise on!

I first started my time at Strength in 2 Fitness two years ago, as a new member. It quickly became apparent, to me that this was a good fit and I have never looked back. I loved the trainers, the sense of belonging, the inclusive space. I had great success with some of the mindset changes that were suggested to me, as I embraced the changes that middle age brings. I was then given the opportunity to become a certified trainer and go back to school at 51 years old! I am so glad I said yes… I am living proof that you are never too old to learn new things, even if you are out of your comfort zone! I love being able to, hopefully inspire and help others achieve their fitness goals. I also bring the experience and knowledge from having owned Curves for women, a circuit gym.

I get to learn from and work alongside some of the best in the business, at Strength in 2 Fitness! Every time I walk through the doors, I feel inspired by the members and the staff!

My passion is to help people change their lives in the simplest and most realistic way possible. I believe everyone deserves the right to good health and happiness. I try to lead by example for my friends, family, and clients.
Consistency beats intensity every single time! Healthy habits are key!

30 Day Challenge starts tomorrow June 8th and ends July 6th!

This is a perfect time to refocus your goals before heading into the summer!

Guess what…..it’s free to all of our members. It’s our 20th year anniversary and it’s our way of giving back.

What do you need to do to be a part of it ?

This week get your

āœ…measurement and weigh in

āœ…write down 2-3 goals you want to focus on over the next 30 days!!

Remember to keep those goals simple - here are some examples of 3 goals.

āœ…Get to the gym 3 days per week for 30 days

āœ…Get 7,500 steps in per day

āœ…Eat a minimum of my goal weight in protein per day!

Or

āœ…Drink 2 litres of water daily

āœ…keep a food journal to help keep track of what I’m eating

āœ…No sugar for 30’days

By writing down goals you will become more accountable to yourself AND it will allow the trainers to support you in reaching your goal. Commit to yourself and feel changes happen!

Whatever your goals are - they are perfect for YOU!!

The challenge start June 8th and just by being a member you are already signed up!! So why not jump in and really challenge yourself šŸ™‚

We will have 4 categories - and prizes for each category šŸ˜‰

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøMeasurement and weigh in -

The client who loses the most inches and pounds wins this category

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøAttendance- we will keep track of your attendance through Pike, just make sure you’ve signed up or your class won’t count. Once you’ve hit 15 classes over the 30 days, you will receive one ballot if you do an additional three classes you receive a second ballot and so on. You don’t need to do anything for this other than show up the coaches will look after the rest.

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøIn-house challenges. the in-house challenges will be part of your workout while you’re at the gym. It is not something extra that you need to stay for. It is planned within the hour that you will already be there. We will keep track of the people who win the challenges and their name will be put into a draw.

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøCoaches choice. Our goal at this gym is to recognize everybody! So, this year we are allowing the coaches to pick one or two clients whom they feel are kicking ass and working hard every time they work out. Those names will be put into a draw and have the opportunity to win prizes as well.

āœ… over the 30 days I will be posting online to support you with your nutrition, motivate you and keep you on track. That’s go into summer feeling amazing.

āœ…Extra bonus if you would like a friend to join you this month for this 30 day challenge your friend gets to join for 50% off their first month. Just for joining the gym your friendā€˜s name gets put into a draw and you get an additional ballot for bringing a friend.

So, all you have to do is work out with us, have some fun this month and win prizes…..sounds good to me!

We start this week with measurements, weigh in and goal setting.

Ask any of your coaches to do your weigh in and measurements this week it would be happy to do it. If weighing in scares you, you can skip that part and just do measurements….OR some clients ask me to do a blind weigh in - which is fine too. The scale doesn’t own us, or dictate our success it is just a tool to use šŸ™‚

Send your goals to

[email protected]

I will go over them and help you out if needed!
