We are excited to offer the Aboriginal Coaching Module (ACM) in partnership with Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) and PacificSport Okanagan.

This valuable professional development opportunity is designed for coaches working with Indigenous athletes and communities, providing participants with a deeper understanding of holistic coaching approaches, cultural awareness, and community wellness.

The professional development of Aboriginal coaches through NCCP certification has been identified by the Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) as a national priority. In order to educate and promote the value of the NCCP and to establish meaningful participation of Aboriginal peoples in this national program, the ASC embarked on a multi-year process to develop supplemental training material for Aboriginal coaches taking NCCP workshops. The result of this process is the Aboriginal Coaching Modules (ACM), which responds to the need for a national training curriculum with content that reflects the uniqueness of Aboriginal cultures, values, and lifestyles.

The ACM is a professional development training tool for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal coaches who coach Aboriginal athletes, as they become certified through the NCCP. The material in the ACM has been developed to meet the following objectives:

- Provide culturally relevant training workshops to Aboriginal coaches and community sport leaders;
- Elevate the capacity of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal coaches to coach Aboriginal athletes;
- Improve the quality of the sport experience for Aboriginal athletes;
- Improve the coach’s understanding of, and ability to apply, Aboriginal culture to sport and to coaching techniques and tactics;
- Allow Aboriginal communities greater accessibility to the NCCP;
- Increase the number of NCCP certified Aboriginal coaches;
- Make the wisdom of Aboriginal culture available to both Aboriginal and mainstream sport.

📣 FREE Intro to Volleyball Clinic & Smashball Tournament! 🏐

Westbank First Nation Youth & Recreation is partnering with I·SPARC and Volleyball BC to bring an exciting Introduction to Volleyball event to local youth!

Whether you're brand new to volleyball or looking to build your skills, this fun and welcoming event is open to all abilities. Participants will learn volleyball fundamentals from certified coaches and then put their new skills into action in a Smashball-style mini tournament.

2026 Youth Football Summer Camp

ROSTER ANNOUNCEMENT – Team Indigenous BC | Ultimate Division

This is a special announcement for a truly special team.

For the first time ever, the BC Summer Games (BCSG) BC Summer Games Ultimate Division will feature a team made up entirely of Indigenous athletes. It’s a historic milestone for the BCSG, BC Ultimate, and, of course, the Community Ultimate Spirit Program (CUSP). The games are taking place in the territory of Syilx Okanagan Territory, in Kelowna.

A huge congratulations to these incredible athletes, their coaches, and the many friends, families, volunteers, and partners working behind the scenes to make this roster possible.

For the past eight years, CUSP has worked alongside Indigenous communities across British Columbia, using ultimate as a vehicle for social development and meaningful connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Seeing a full team of Indigenous youth, many of whom have grown through CUSP, competing at the BCSG is an incredible moment.

In the Ultimate Spirit community we prioritize the process: building relationships, developing leaders, cultivating confidence, and creating positive experiences through our sport. While outcomes are never the primary focus, moments like this, we truly have to celebrate a major outcome. Having Team Indigenous BC take the field at the BCSG is an achievement we’re deeply proud to be part of.

This team brings together athletes from the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations, Lil’wat Nation, Hesquiaht First Nation 🙂 and Sqwá First Nation, representing the strength and diversity of Indigenous communities across the province. Simply bringing this team together, coordinating the logistics and getting everyone to Kelowna, is already a victory. From here, this week is about so much more than results. It’s about developing skills, building spirit, forming new friendships across communities, and creating lifelong memories.

What a team. What a milestone.
