My name is Francisco Escobar and I am the owner/ operator of Gear Up Adventures Inc. Since 2005, I’ve worked for the Federal Government of Canada as a part of a National Youth Organization that focuses on citizenship, leadership, and promoting healthy living through adventure training. I work as a member of a team that provides various facets of support to 50 youth groups in 50 different communiti
es across British Columbia. I have been responsible for the successful and safe delivery of over 300 activities a year since 2005. Activities range from day hikes that last a couple of hours, to multi-vehicle (bike, hike, canoe, etc.) expeditions that last weeks. Safety is always the primary concern. I review emergency evacuation plans, coordinating instructions, consider risk management, oversee personnel, and manage financial and material resources, as part of my day-to-day job. It is imperative that all logistical coordination is error-free. I also have over 7 years of experience delivering six-week summer programs in camps around the Okanagan and Canadian Rockies for hundreds of youth over any given summer. Over the years these numbers have accumulated to giving me the pleasure of directly working with over 5000 youth from across Canada and the United Kingdom, all while experiencing amazing places, activities, and people. Gear Up Adventures Inc. provides me with a platform where I combine my proven abilities, experience and training, coupled with my passion for travel, adventure, facilitating experiential learning and Turning the adventure dreams you’ve always had, into a hassle-free reality!
