We’re officially launching our own brand of quality, ready-to-shape open crown felt hats, starting with two collections:

The Competitor — 100% Rabbit Fur Felt

The Rancher — 50/50 Beaver/Rabbit Fur Felt

And you’ll notice something missing… X ratings.

That’s intentional. With no universal standard for X ratings, they don’t always tell you what you’re actually getting.

Instead, we’ll help you choose a hat based on how you’ll use it, what you need, and what fits your budget.

I did a little thing today… I actually remembered to take a picture of a straw hat shaped up here in the shop 😂

Now, full disclosure… this was the second hat of the day…Baby steps.

I get so wrapped up visiting with customers and working on hats that the camera is usually the last thing on my mind. The only reason I remembered this time is because he left it with me to shape and is coming back to pick it up later.

This started as an open crown Twister jute with a 5” brim. We shaped the crown into a Minnick crease and gave the brim a ranch-style shape.

His priorities were simple: maximum sun coverage, plenty of ventilation, and a brim that comes down in the front and back to keep the sun off where it matters most.

Every hat should fit the person who wears it…not just in size, but in how they use it. 🤠
