STOP 🛑 going to the Florida beaches 🏖️ on vacation and visit a Florida Spring 💧instead! We have been to 16 Florida Springs in the past two years. Below are our favorite 5 springs to swim 🏊 in. You don’t need a paddle board or kayak to explore these five places…although the experience is more fun if you have one!
📍 Ginnie Springs - Our favorite 🤩 because of the variety of springs to explore (7 in total). This privately owned recreation area tends to get busy and possibly a bit crazy on the weekends, so we recommend visiting on a weekday unless you are looking for a party 🎉.
📍 Silver Glen Springs - Super clear 👀 water with a beautiful head spring. There are both shallow and deep areas in this spring which is nice for families. There is also an area next to the spring where boats 🚤 hang out and you can paddle.
📍 Alexander Springs - The water is crystal clear. We loved diving down in to the head spring here! There is a great picnic 🧺 area and paddle run as well.
📍 Rainbow Springs - The kids loved jumping in here and they have a large swimming 🏊‍♀️ area. You can also rent SUP’s next to the spring, and the Rainbow River is a great place to paddle and snorkel.
📍 Ichetucknee Springs - This is a beautiful crystal clear spring with easy access. We recommend taking the short walk from the headspring to the Blue Hole spring as well!
Things to know:
1. There is always the possibility of alligators 🐊 when you are in fresh water in Florida, however, they do not like the colder water temps (springs are a constant 68-72 degrees all year) and we have never seen them in the swimming 🏊‍♀️ areas at these springs.
2. Bring goggles and a snorkel 🤿, and a life jacket or pool noodle to float on.
3. Practice leave no trace principles at any spring you visit so future generations can also experience these amazing places!
4. If you like tubing, they have tubing runs at Ginnie Springs, Rainbow Springs, and Ichetucknee Springs.
SAVE ✅ this post for your next trip to Florida! Have you been to a Flor da Spring? Which one is your favorite? We still have several more to explore! 06/18/2024

Good to have it in remember for whenever it’s the time!
