I message from Our Regional Elk Biologist.
We are closing in on our winter field work season and wanted to take the time to ensure affected landowners and hunters are made aware of our work this winter. As the two demographics we are trying to reach out to are hunters and landowners, we are touching base with you folks in the hope you may be willing to share this infographic (attached) with your associations; Vanderhoof Fish and Game Club and the Nechako Valley Regional Cattlemen’s Association. I dropped a few off around town (thanks Dave and Olin) as well, so hopefully it isn’t a surprise for anyone this winter when captures are completed.
Thanks again for your support, hoping this information can help guide decisions on hunting seasons that we have batted around the last few years.
Cheers,
Matt

B.C.’s Hunting and Trapping regulations continue to set a dangerous precedent by relying on emotion and political considerations, rather than science and reliable data. We need to be focused on protecting endangered species, restoring wildlife wherever possible and using sound data to guide harvest regulations.
Please take the time to engage and let them know that social experiments are not acceptable when wild food harvesting and the future of wildlife in B.C. are concerned.

Opinion: B.C. had 20 years to act and now everything is on fire
In the current fire season, we have seen five times more hectares burned compared to 2003 and it isn’t even August.
