Jericho Wavechaser Paddle Series

Hello all. This week’s race will be….. hmmmm what’s the wind going to be…. Where are the swells coming from… When you look at the Jericho weather log, the wind died off at 4:30 and switched from West to South East. How can you plan a race with things like that happening!!! I wonder what the water temperature is like? 🤔 Perhaps a remount race? Or a hand paddle race? Or a shortened version of the Race To Alaska? Some of you will be heading to the Columbia Gorge on the weekend, so a nice downwinder would be a great warmup. As you can see it’s not easy making a plan! Come join the fun on Thursday!

Big winds earlier this week led to some great wave chasing. The wind forecast for Thursday is 15 km/h from the west, so it might be a good one! Come out and catch a thrill at Jericho. Registration is here:

Rumour has it that the sun will be on display on Thursday for the Wavechaser. A nice break from the cool and wet conditions of the last few days. The tide will be ebbing slightly and Windy says 2 km/h SW. So…. What kind of course? Maybe a short lap race… or a remount race (is the water warm enough?)… or a trip out to the old sand barge location and Q52? I will have an idea at about 6:58 PM on Thursday! 🤪

I heard that Deep Cove was very bumpy last night for the TNR paddle race. Bumpy is a relative term, and we who head out on English Bay know all about bumps.
