Think skipping rope is just for kids? πŸ˜„

Think again πŸ‘€

For women over 40 the skipping rope is one of the most powerful and most underrated training tools out there πŸ’ͺ

In just a few minutes it delivers cardio, coordination and bone density work all at once πŸ”₯

After 40 your body needs movement that challenges more than just your heart rate πŸ‘€

It needs movement that keeps your brain and your body working together πŸ’ͺ

The skipping rope does exactly that πŸ”₯

Your body is ready for this πŸ‘€

Is yours? 😊πŸ’ͺ

Drop a πŸ”₯ below if you have tried skipping rope as part of your training πŸ‘‡

Sit down on the floor and stand back up β€” no hands, no knees, no leaning on anything.

It's called the sitting-rising test. Researchers scored around 2,000 adults out of 10, taking a point off for every hand or knee they needed. The lowest scorers went on to die at roughly five to six times the rate of those who scored 9 or 10. A 2025 follow-up in over 4,000 people found the same pattern.

Now the honest part: the test predicts risk, it doesn't create it. Nobody has proven that raising your score buys you years.

But what it measures β€” leg strength, balance, mobility β€” is trainable at any age. And those are the same qualities that decide whether getting down to the floor at 75 is routine or frightening.

Try it. Tell me your score below πŸ‘‡

Perimenopause β€” the years before your last period β€” is when muscle slips away fastest. After menopause, it levels off. Almost nobody warns you about that window.

Perimenopausal women lose lean mass and gain fat at an accelerated rate. In one perimenopause study, about 1 in 4 women lost more than 7% of their bone density in two years.

That's hormonal, not a discipline problem. And the fix isn't more cardio. It's lifting something heavy 2–3 times a week.

The kettlebell push press is one of my favourites. Legs drive, core braces, shoulders finish β€” one movement, whole chain. The leg drive lets you handle more load than a strict press, which is the whole point.

Start light. Learn the rack position before you chase weight.

What's your biggest training challenge in perimenopause right now? πŸ‘‡

Most women over 40 are fighting their metabolism with cardio πŸ‘€
But cardio alone never wins that fight πŸ’ͺ
Here is what actually does β€” strength training.
Strength training builds the muscle your metabolism actually runs on πŸ”₯
More muscle means a faster metabolism β€” at rest, during training and every hour in between πŸ‘€
After 40 this is not a nice to have.
It is the most powerful tool you have πŸ’ͺ
Have you added strength training to your routine yet? Drop a yes or no below πŸ‘‡
