We welcome people of all walks of life. We offer boxing programs for youth, mothers, athletes, fight
Boxing coach David Schuck started the Eastside Boxing Club after the closure of the historical Astoria Boxing Club, where he was the head coach. As a non-profit boxing club, Eastside Boxing is faced with the financial struggles of finding a new space, purchasing equipment and having the capital to run a successful community boxing club. Luckely Aprons for Gloves has stepped in and will be donating
all proceeds of the Restaurant Rumble to Dave Schuck's gym. Eastside Boxing Club’s (ESB) goal is to improve lives through Boxing. Using collaborative processes ESB offers services to engage community members, who otherwise, would not have the opportunity to take part. By partnering with community-based service providers ESB provides free, low-barrier, boxing programs to vulnerable populations. Community Partners:
NICCSS Roving leaders – The Roving Leaders Program is a flexible, community-based initiative that connects and engages vulnerable, at-risk children & youth in East Vancouver neighbourhoods. This program focuses on connecting with the children and youth where they are, building a relationship and then helping them to integrate into neighbourhood programs, services and education opportunities. The Homework Club - Youth Engagement Project (YEP): is a project to engage the most at-risk students, providing them with the additional support they need to be successful at school. In YEP the youth receive academic support as well as well-rounded support in whatever areas the youth need. This may include setting goals, identifying strengths and weaknesses, work on emotional/mental health, conflict resolution education, building a balanced schedule, sleep hygiene, maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships and building a healthy support systems. Good Food For All – is a Vancouver-based organization providing healthy snacks to ESB’s community programs. This partnership allows ESB to provide healthy snacks to participants, teaching them the importance of nutritious foods when maintaining a physically active life-style.
