Salsa Dancing in Vancouver

We’re taking the dance floor outdoors for the Vancouver Outdoor Salsa Festival! A little prep goes a long way to make sure you have the best time.

Here’s what to bring:

💧 Water bottle — stay hydrated, we’ll be dancing all day
🧺 Picnic mat — grab a spot and relax between sets
☀️ Weather-appropriate clothing — sun, wind, or clouds, come prepared
👟 Comfortable shoes — you’ll want good grip for dancing on grass

Rueda de la Vida (that’s us) is a registered non-profit society dedicated to making Afro-Latin dance, especially Cuban salsa (Rueda de Casino), accessible to everyone. Our performance team is made up entirely of passionate volunteers who proudly participate in fundraisers and community events. Through the joy of dance, we bring people together, strengthen community connections, and contribute to Vancouver’s vibrant cultural scene.

UBC Rueda de Casino is a student-led club at UBC that hosts weekly lessons and socials for dancing Rueda de Casino. The club is driven by passionate students and community members who believe that the joy of dance should be accessible by everyone, and who strive to create a space for people to share their love of Cuban dance beyond the campus and into the broader Vancouver dance community.

With 2 decades of dancing experience, Nico Rana is a passionate artist dedicated to performances, choreography, and inspiring others through movement. He has performed throughout the world, and is dedicated to mentoring and teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
