False Creek BCP Dragon Boat

Day 1 of racing…COMPLETE! A quick turnaround between our three 500M races. 🥇 Raced against 2 all-cancer mixed teams. Rained off and on which helped keep the humidity/temp feel not quite so bad. 200M races on Friday.

It was an eleventh hour call for the Parade and Opening Ceremonies but the rain let up just in time. 😮‍💨. Quite the spectacle. Fire, dancers, music and a fabulous fireworks display to finish off the celebrations.

Another hot one for our second practice session yesterday. It started to rain after we got off the water. Made us feel right at home only it was very warm. Opening ceremonies in the evening and our racing starts on Wednesday.

Playing catchup. First morning team “stretch” to get rid of the cobwebs. More like a hot yoga class 🧘🏻‍♀️🥵 in this humidity. Thankfully a one and done activity. 😉

After a 2am departure from YVR, a 12 hour plane ride, a 4 hour bus ride and waiting for almost 5 hours to check in…we MADE IT!!!! First practice session on Saturday.
