🏆 2026 Men’s Junior Champions 🏆

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s been worth the wait. The boys are the Vancouver Junior Champions again!

After last year’s narrow semi final defeat on penalties, the lads were set on getting back on track and focused for the year.

The marker was set back in June when we defeated Eire Og in the opening game. We knew it was going to be a tough road during the group phase, and the lads kept their heads high, remained calm and believed in themselves.

We put an end to the Championship trophy drought and brought silverware home for the first time since 2019.

We would like to thank many people, to our sponsors Kitsilano Liquor Store and Foy’s for their continued support, to Vancouver GAA for working hard behind the scenes to keep the seasons ticking over, manager Josh Hoban for all the tough training sessions and all the lads that came before us, this is for you 💪🏽

For some lads, this was final game in the green jersey, but they’ve represented the club brilliantly during their time with the club. We’re extremely proud of you.

As both Junior Men’s and Senior Ladies take the field in their respective championship finals, our Junior ladies also reached a semi final.

Ladies Senior Final - ISSC vs St Finnian’s

Come and join us in supporting the Ladies Senior team as they take on St Finnians in the 2026 final at 2 P.M. this Saturday at Burnaby Lakes Rugby Club.

This will be the 6th final in a row and another battle with St Finnian’s, and the ladies are always up for it.

As a club we’re so proud of these group of ladies and how hard they worked all year.

The ladies were able to regroup after many of their squad left for home this year and last, with many players stepping up to the seniors when called upon.

Men’s Junior Final - ISSC vs Eire Og

Come and join us in supporting the Men’s Junior team as they take on Eire Og in the 2026 final at 9:30 A.M. this Saturday at Burnaby Lakes Rugby Club.

As a club we’re so proud of these group of lads and how hard they worked all year.

The road to the final hasn’t been easy for the boys but with only 1x loss, the lads really stepped it up in the semi final.

We would like to take a moment to thank Steven Foy for his sponsorship this year. 🙌🏼

Steven was very welcoming when we approached him to find a new clubhouse back in March.

Much to our delight, he was very happy to give our club a new home and we are forever grateful for all his kindness and support.

We hosted our first social night back in May for our annual quiz night and we sold out 🔥

And early this month, Foy’s provided our sports day members with a huge feed with helped with the alcohol soakage 🤣

Foy’s Irish Bar is a great home away from home here in the city. It’s nestled away on Kingsway and has amazing food and drink specials.

Each night of the week, the pub has weekly quiz nights, dart and pool competitions, live music and this weekend will be showing the all Ireland final between Mayo and Kerry 💪🏽🏐

There is a huge space out the back to rent for special events, club night out and functions, so make sure to check it out.

We’re having our annual sports day this Saturday 4th July at Jericho Beach Park at 2pm ☀️

There’ll be plenty of fun and competitive games to take part in and prizes to be won 🔥

If you don’t have a team, then we will help assign you with a team on the day.

Max of 8 people per team.

Feel free to bring friends, housemates, lovers etc. 🙏🏼😉

Vancouver GAA Championship 2026 - Ladies Junior Championship - Round 2

Our Junior ladies put in a fantastic performance as they bounced back and overcame a strong Éire Óg team.

From the first whistle, the girls showed great determination to put right the minor mistakes from the previous week’s loss.

Their work rate and commitment were evident throughout, with impressive running from Róisín Daly, Louise Rowland, Emma O’Grady, Shawna Bradley and Rhea Casey. Their movement and ability to find space created scoring opportunities from all areas of the field and kept the Éire Óg defence under constant pressure.

At the other end, the defence stood firm and proved incredibly difficult to break down. Katie McEniff, Becky Fitzgerald, Rachel Kane and Aisling Murphy were rock solid throughout, forming a brick wall that limited Éire Óg’s scoring chances and laid the foundation for a deserved victory.

A tremendous team performance all round and a well-earned win for the girls.

As we have such a huge panel and squad for the junior team, our extended panel, joined and cheered on the ladies during the game.

Great to see that support 💚💛

Our ladies travel to Victoria on Saturday July 25, where Van Isle host.

☀️ Annual Spikeball Tournament ☀️

Join us next Thursday, June 25 at Jericho beach as we get together for the most dramatic and competitive event of the year, spikeball.

Last year we had 20 teams battle it out for their chance to become ISSC Spikeball Champions, and this year we’re aiming for bigger and better.

If you don’t know how to play, we will explain the game and how it works. 💪🏽😉

Teams will be assigned on the day and the tournament will kick off at 6:30pm sharp.
