Learning together is part of reconciliation.
Our Vietnamese Seniors Program recently hosted an UNDRIP 101 Event for Newcomers, a community learning session with staff from the City of Vancouver’s Indigenous Relations team.
Together, participants learned about local Indigenous Peoples in Vancouver and the region, what reconciliation means, why the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples matters, and how we can continue contributing to reconciliation in our everyday lives.
We are grateful to the City of Vancouver - Local Government and M.O.S.A.I.C. for helping bring this session to community, and to our Vietnamese seniors for showing up with openness, care, and a willingness to keep learning.
These conversations matter. They help build understanding, connection, and stronger relationships across communities.
