Big Wins for BC Athletes in Kamloops!
Congratulations to Thomas Venos and Mitch McIntyre who are the Men's Singles and Quad Singles champions at this year's Kamloops Legacy Wheelchair Tennis Tournament.

Thomas won the Men's Singles final 7/6 (6) 6/1 over Australian Ben Weekes to claim his first ITF Singles title of 2026 and 2nd career Kamloops Legacy Singles crown.

Mitch McIntyre finished the Quad Singles round-robin undefeated, getting by runner-up and fellow BC athlete Lachland Sandford 6/3 6/2.

The last title of the weekend went to Benjamin Weekes and American Tomas Majetic in Men's Doubles. The cross-continental pair defeated the BC duo of Thomas Venos and Barry Henderson in one of the most exciting matches in tournament history 6/1 6/7 10/7 in a 3rd set tie-break.

Next up, we have the Vancouver International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, starting on Wednesday, July 15, at Kits Beach. - the 2nd of our two WC50 tournaments on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour

Day 1 of the Kamloops Legacy Wheelchair Tennis Tournament saw the Men's Round of 16 and Quarterfinals as well as the first match of the Quad Singles. Competition continues today with semifinals in Singles and Doubles plus the 2nd round of the Quad Round Robin. Join us at the Kamloops Tennis Centre to watch all of the action!

Top Seeds Through To Semifinals!
All four seeded players in the Men's Singles made the most of their first round byes and won their quarterfinal match-ups on Friday.

BC's Thomas Venos got past fellow BCer Barry Henderson 6/1 6/1 in his quarterfinal, Australian Ben Weekes won 6/0 6/0 over Atif Moon (USA). American Tomas Majetic picked up a 6/0 6/0 victory over BC's Patrick Levis and Nicolas Forgacs of France defeated Edgar Vidrales 6/2 6/4 to claim the last spot in the semifinals.

More BC Updates
There were two all-BC battles in the Round of 16 as Barry Henderson beat Se-Youn Moon 6/1 6/2 and Patrick Levis won 6/4 6/1 over Mark Hansen-Bukata.

John Chen had a very competitve match with Atif Moon falling 6/4 6/4. Lastly Mitch McIntyre opened Quad Singles with a 6/2 6/0 win against Ontario's Hisham Mohammad.

It’s great to welcome back several familiar faces from around the world to BC for tournaments during the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour!

The Kamloops Legacy Wheelchair Tennis Tournament starts tomorrow at the Kamloops Tennis Centre and 8 Team BC athletes will be action at this WC50 Tournament on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour!

Thomas Venos, Barry Henderson and Se-Youn Moon all enter the tournament ranked in the top 100 of the World Rankings, while Mitch McIntyre and Lachlan Sandford are both among the world's top 50 in the Quad Division.

You can come out and support the BC athletes and their fellow competitors from across Canada and the globe all weekend long! Admission is free and our draws will be announced later tonight!

The UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour returns to Kamloops this week!

Join us at the Kamloops Tennis Centre to watch many BC and Canadian top Wheelchair Tennis athletes compete against players from around the world for titles and world ranking points.
