Race Around the Rock Regatta champions once again!

This week on the creek:
Happy final week of August!
We celebrated via winning Race Around the Rock Regatta , as well as having some fantastic sessions back on home water.

1st place 🥇at Race Around the Rock Regatta 2026!

With 7h47 over the 88km, second victory in a row, a course record in the C2x 💪

This week on the creek we:
- had our final learn to row session!
- had some great comp, rec, and league sessions
- and started gearing up for Race Around the Rock

Race Around the Rock 2026 is nearly here!
8 False Creek Rowers will be taking part in the Mixed Open C2x as they tear it up racing around the 88km course and defend their 2024 title 🥇.

A huge thank you to Race Around the Rock Regatta for hosting!!

This week on the creek we:
- had some very atmospheric rows (thanks to the smoke)
- were serenaded and danced a jig
- had our third week of the final Learn To Row sessions

Upwards of 100 rowing shells will be participating in the Head Up The Creek rowing regatta hosted by the False Creek Rowing Club.

Boats will be racing in 2 flights:
Flight 1 launching from Vanier Park at 8:30 am, starting their race at Science World at 9:30, with the 1st flight completing about 10:30.
Flight 2 launching from Vanier Park at 11:00 am, starting at Science World 12:00 noon and concluding about 1 pm.

This Week on the Creek we:
- hosted our July Social Barbecue/Potluck
- watched the fireworks
- had done great sessions
- and started our Last Learn To Row sessions of the summer

Thanks to the support from Canada Summer Jobs 🇨🇦, we're looking for two full time (30 hours/week) rowing coaches to support our programs during the months of July and August 🚣🚣‍♀️
