«Top 10 worst exercises?» We hate to break it to you.

There’s no such thing as a bad exercise. There are wrong choices, wrong timing, wrong technique, and wrong programming. The exercise isn’t the problem. The context is.

Squats, deadlifts, burpees, crunches... none of them are «bad.» The real question is always: Who is this for? What are we trying to accomplish? Is it the right tool for the job?

Your protein is high. Your training is solid. So why aren’t your muscles recovering? 🤔

It might be a mineral most people overlook: magnesium.
Skeletal muscle is highly sensitive to magnesium status. When it drops, so does your energy production, your recovery, and your progress, often before you feel a thing. Poor recovery. Early fatigue. Workouts that feel harder than they should.

But more isn’t better. Magnesium is a mineral your body needs and a metal that demands respect. Too much can cause issues, especially with medications or kidney problems.

So don’t just start downing it. Talk to a qualified professional first. 💛

Your fitness career might be closer than you think 💛

Are you a youth in care, or a former youth in care, who dreams of building a career in fitness? Funding support may be available to help you get started.

Through the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, eligible youth may be able to receive support to fund their education at Infofit.

Their scholarship program includes Path 4: short-term programs under one year, including certifications and skill-building courses. That’s a direct fit for training that leads straight to a career, like becoming a certified personal trainer or fitness instructor.

You may be eligible if you:
✅ Are not currently receiving a CAFC scholarship
✅ Have been in temporary or permanent government care
✅ Are under 30, or over 30 and haven’t previously received CAFC post-secondary support

If that sounds like you, and you’re drawn to a short-term, career-focused program like Infofit’s, this pathway could be a great fit.

Infofit’s programs are hands-on, career-focused, and built to help you graduate job-ready.
Applications for Path 4 may reopen for the 2026–27 year during the summer, so keep an eye on the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada website for updates.

Your past does not define your future. If you want to build a career helping others through fitness, the support may already be there. 💛

The official injury report is in 📋

Diagnosis: a mild but significant case of not wanting to do it. Status: day to day. Return to squats: unknown. 😅

We’ve all had that day. The secret is showing up anyway, because leg day doesn’t negotiate.

Lifting doesn’t slow you down. At the elite level, it’s your edge💪

The World Cup’s best didn’t get there by avoiding the gym. Sprint speed. Explosive cuts. The power behind a shot. The strength to hold off a defender and stay on their feet. That’s all built by lifting.

Size and strength aren’t the same thing. Smart training makes players faster, sharper, and harder to injure.

So no, footballers aren’t skipping the weight room. It’s part of what makes them elite.

You are not too old to get stronger. Science just proved it. 💪

New research shows that older adults can improve strength, reaction time, and force production in just two weeks of strength training, and it starts in the nervous system, not the muscle.

Early strength gains are less about building new muscle and more about learning how to use the muscle you already have.

The body does not stop adapting. It just needs the right stimulus. 🧠
