Height affects your TDEE more than people realize. At 5ā4ā & under, youāre carrying less lean mass & a smaller frame overall, which means your maintenance calories are naturally lower than a 5ā8ā+ girl doing the exact same workouts
So when a taller girl eats 1,700 calories & drops fat effortlessly, but you eat the same & stall out? Thatās not your metabolism being ābroken,ā itās math
The fix is simple: build quality muscle mass to make fat loss easier & then adjusting your numbers to YOUR frame, not using a generic calculator or listening to some random influencer tell you that you shouldnāt eat under 1500 calories
Petite girls have to be more precise: small frame = smaller margin for error, but big results when you actually dial it in ššš

Nobody tells petite girls this about maintenance calories
You may not be able to eat 2000+ calories / day & not gain weight
Maintenance isnāt one-size-fits-all, it scales with your frame: height, bone structure, lean mass, even limb length. A 5ā8ā girl and a 5ā2ā girl doing the same training split are NOT working with the same maintenance number. Hers will be higher by default
So when you copy some random girlās āWhat I Eat in a Dayā & suddenly canāt maintain or your weight starts creeping up, itās not you being āsensitiveā to food, itās just your frame requiring less to sustain itself
This is why petite girls following tall-girl meal plans, tall-girl macros, and tall-girl āwhat I eat in a dayā videos end up frustrated
Your number isnāt smaller because somethingās wrong with you. Itās smaller because youāre working with a smaller structure. Once you eat for YOUR frame instead of someone elseās, maintenance actually makes sense š

If you want to succeed at something, dedicate yourself to it, donāt half-ass it
Who will you be when youāre done bodybuilding?
I repeat: itās called bodyBUILDING
Understand & commit to ALL phases of bodybuilding: off-season, pre-prep, prep, reverse, post-show, off-season again
If youāre a new competitor, DO NOT jump into gear right away. What if you hate the sport? I always advise at least one natural show first to test the waters, see what youāre capable of, then go from there
Stop spiralling when the scale fluctuates
The scale is data, not a verdict

Quitting teaching was one of the scariest things Iāve ever done
āBut you get summers offā
āBut what about the stability?ā
āBut what about the pension & benefits?ā
āOnline coaching isnāt a real careerā
I heard it all
But despite all that, I still made the leap & I honestly havenāt looked back
Itās important I say two things here:
1ļøā£The kids were not the reason I left
2ļøā£I have the UTMOST respect & admiration for teachers still in the profession
I left teaching for a variety of reasons: the exhaustion & burnout from the system, how quickly the profession & expectations changed in the 8 years I taught for, the fairly constant negativity, and the inability to be truly myself & not scrutinized for my passions/wanting more (among other things)
Since quitting, Iāve immersed myself in full-time online coaching. There have been some long hours, tough moments, and HARD days along the way, but I honestly donāt regret my decision in the slightest. Despite all this, I am fulfilled & at peace
I literally heard it from a random person at the gym today, āI canāt believe how much your life has changed since I first met you, itās so cool to see who you are nowā and Iād have to agree
I have always had a passion for educating & helping others, but now itās in a different way that allows me to be the best version of MYSELF & I get to coach other women on how to do the same thing
My job is about SO much more than just workouts and meal plans & Iāve never been happier

Is it ābalanceā or are you actually just comfortable? š
Hot take: the temporary discomfort of learning to track what you eat actually gives you knowledge and perspective about what youāre putting in your mouth and how it contributes to how you look, and more importantly, how you feel
This isnāt to say you canāt or shouldnāt have foods you enjoy, but doing so with a strategy is the difference between feeling stuck where you are now and actually becoming who you want to be

A week since Calgary with the fam already?!
