Hope everyone is having a good summer! Competitive skaters had the chance to get together a few times for some dryland training and some mountain biking. It’s important to keep up on fitness during the off season!

Cobequid Speed Skating Club is hosting a special event taking place in our community this April.

Canada’s speed skating Olympians are bringing their Medals on Tour to Truro in partnership with Intact Insurance – Intact Assurance. This event offers a unique opportunity for athletes, families, and community members to connect with Olympic medalists, hear their stories, and celebrate the spirit of sport.

Our Truro event will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Legion Stadium (14 Lorne Street, Truro). The schedule for the day is as follows:

3:00 – 4:00 PM: Club-only speed skating session

4:00 – 4:45 PM: Public skate

5:00 – 6:00 PM: Q&A and fireside chat with Olympians

CSSC was invited to set up a booth and do a demo at the Don Henderson Memorial Arena in Brookfield this weekend! Thank you to everyone who came to skate and help out. Our table will be set up tomorrow too starting at 1:30pm.
