These events can’t happen without an excellent support team. The people behind the scenes make all the difference. I am lucky to have three super young woman with me this week: Charlotte Millar, Ashly Macgregor and Amanda Balemans. Back home, Liana Lundy, Mackenzie Jae and Susan Medland are holding down the fort. I am also lucky to have coach, Bram Chardon, vet, Emily Jantzi and farrier, Brian Mullins who keep me and my ponies tuned. Thank you.

Dressage is done. I made some mistakes in warm-up with timing and dealing with the heat. Strangely I trotted up the centre line and then turned the wrong way!! Kas was a superstar and Archie tried his best. Then off to walk obstacles in the blistering heat. Heat exhaustion is a real thing. Tomorrow we have “off” so hopefully it will cool off a bit for the course walking. Off to the meeting.

Made it to Tryon. Picked up some hitchhikers along the way - duckies to raise money for the Tennessee children’s hospital. Parts of the drive along hwy 40 were terrifying as the roads are still not fully repaired since the floods two years ago. Glad I have lots of practise driving cones but 53’ of truck and trailer in a very narrow twisty mountain drive was a lot. Still, we are here and excited to be participating.

Packed and ready for our next adventure! We set off in the small hours tomorrow for Tryon with a layover in Paris, Kentucky.
