ABOUT:

The evening kicks off with a beginner partnered Lindy Hop dance lesson led by Gabrielle and Charlie from Swing Toronto. Originating in Harlem in the late 1920s, Lindy Hop is a joyful and iconic style of swing dance deeply rooted in African American culture — known for its energetic footwork, playful rhythms and dynamic partner connection.

No experience? No problem! Absolute beginners are welcome, and no partner is needed — just bring your enthusiasm!

After the lesson, travel back in time to the golden age of swing as you dance the night away to the electrifying sounds of the Toronto All-Star Big Band. Renowned for capturing the spirit and sound of the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s, this band will have you moving and grooving all night long. Feel free to wear your swankiest vintage attire and get ready to cut a rug — it’s going to be a night to remember!

PREREQUISITE
You have taken our two Viennese Waltz beginner workshops (Right Turning and Left Turning) at least once each, or the equivalent.
