This drill locks a catcher’s elbow at 90° while seated, removing the ability to reach or stab at pitches.
It forces all the adjustment into the wrist and glove, building quiet hands and a stable receiving frame — helping catchers steal borderline strikes instead of yanking pitches out of the zone.

This drill builds the hip-shoulder separation that creates real power. With the bar locked behind the neck, the arms can’t cheat — so the body learns to keep weight back, stay closed, and let the hips lead the rotation. Better sequencing = more power, more consistency, and less stress on the arm. 💪⚾
