Five things people get wrong about who this certification is for.

1. It's only for instructors who already work with clients with disabilities. No, it's for any instructor, or anyone who wants to become one.
2. You need a medical background. No, you need skilled, human teaching.
3. It's only for people who live with disability themselves. No, it's for anyone, with or without a disability, who wants to teach to the full range of human experience.
4. It's a small niche market. No, disability is the largest underserved population in fitness, a market roughly the size of China.
5. It's only for personal trainers. No, it's for yoga teachers, group fitness instructors, movement coaches, anyone who teaches bodies.

Which one surprised you? Comment the number.

Over one billion people live with disability. In fitness, they remain the largest underserved group, and most of the industry still is not built for them.

That is not a niche. It is the largest open opportunity most instructors never train for.

Save this for the next time someone says disability is a niche market.

Detailed description and explanation of why the movements matter.

Not "watch your form." Not "you'll feel it eventually." One instruction, specific enough to act on immediately.

That precision isn't built on being able to see someone move. Some of our instructors are blind. All of our classes are on-demand and played back with nobody watching at all. In these scenarios, the cue has to do the whole job by itself.

That's the actual skill this certification trains: not reading a body, but naming exactly what needs to be heard so you have the right support whether someone is watching you more or not.

Our January cohort is the last founding cohort and is filling quickly. We also have our April cohorts open too!

This is Lee-Anne, our Founder, speaking at the Zero Project Conference.

For a long time, this industry has told us only certain bodies belong, only certain bodies are valuable. At Sekond Skin Society, we reject that. The industry has gotten it wrong all this time, and we built this company, and this certification, to change it.

This is the belief every Lead, Co-Lead, and Peer Mentor involved in our certification teaches from.

Think back to the instructor who made you feel like you belonged, or the one who never quite saw you.

Be the trainer you wish you had. That is the whole certification in one sentence. Twelve weeks, hybrid, fifty dollars a month, led by people who live this work.

January is our last founding cohort. April is open too.

Lissa Piercy, our Co-Lead Fitness Trainer, lives with ADHD and bipolar disorder. Movement became part of how she takes care of herself long before it became her career.

Since 2017 she has taught hundreds of group fitness classes and led instructor development across some of the biggest programs in the industry. She is known for classes that are welcoming, adaptable, and still genuinely challenging.

Her own path is exactly why she is so good at meeting instructors, and their future clients, where they actually are.

Fitness that fits you. Because this industry has excluded you for too long.

Not because you were not capable. Not because you were not motivated. Because almost nobody built a room, a class, or a certification with you in mind.

That ends here. Every class in our app and every instructor we train starts from one question: does this include you, really, or just in theory.

Save this. You were never the problem.

Some news we have been holding close, and can finally share:

Sekond Skin Society has made the Shortlist for the Zero Project Awards 2027.

Our work was chosen from 615 nominations across 94 countries, through peer-review votes from disability inclusion experts around the world. That last part means the most to us. This recognition came from the very community our work is built alongside.

We have always believed movement has been for everybody and every body, and that the people who have been kept waiting deserve spaces built with them in mind, not as an afterthought. To have that belief recognized on a global stage is a moment we will not forget.

Thank you to every instructor, participant, and partner who has built this with us. This one belongs to all of us.

Niya Bajaj was once told, in a movement space, that she did not fit.

She carried that forward differently than most people would. Today she is an IAYT-certified yoga therapist, a best-selling author, and someone whose work has been featured in Forbes and the New York Times. She leads our Yoga Certification so no student in her room ever hears what she once heard.

Meet Niya and the rest of your trainers at the website link in bio.

Most fitness credentials were built around one kind of body, one kind of client, one kind of room.

That is not a flaw in any single trainer. It is a gap in the training itself. Nobody taught most instructors how to cue for a wheelchair user, a blind client, or a neurodivergent student, because the certifications never covered it.

We built ours to close exactly that gap. Swipe through for what we mean by trained, not just certified.
