NKS Black Belt Mikayla Arena is currently in the Philippines, sharing her passion for karate while giving back to the community. An exceptional martial artist with a huge heart, she’s teaching karate and raising donations to support underprivileged children. We couldn’t be prouder of the difference she’s making—both on and off the mats.

What could be better than celebrating a milestone birthday in class? Celebrating two. Happy Birthday to Hanshi Sandro Simonetta and Fred Herran. Wishing you both health, happiness, and many more years of inspiring those around you.

Honoured for the opportunity. I never take for granted when the chance arises to work with students from our NKS family. It was a great morning at NKS Willowdale. Grateful for the experience and the time shared together.

Beyond the foundational skills of punching and kicking, NKS Richmond Hill stands out through its unwavering commitment to building a compassionate and supportive community. Their recent dojo tournament was a testament to this spirit, as they successfully raised nearly $11,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This remarkable achievement not only highlights their dedication to martial arts but also their profound empathy and willingness to support children in need.

This effort reflects the heart and soul of NKS Richmond Hill—an organization that believes in the power of giving back and making a difference. Such generosity and kindness are the cornerstones of their community, led by the inspiring guidance of Hanshi LaSelva and his dedicated team. Congratulations to everyone involved in this incredible endeavor, and thank you for demonstrating that martial arts can be a force for good, extending far beyond the dojo walls to touch the lives of those in need.

At NKS, when we say ‘it’s a family thing,’ we mean it with all our heart. Here, we see young Vincent Scarcelli proudly posing with his mentor, Andrea Iori. Fast forward 22 years, and the legacy continues as Andrea’s son, Massimo, stands beside his role model, Vincent Scarcelli.
