There’s a cost to never stopping. If you never pause to take a breath, one day your body will force you to stop entirely. Your nervous system is trying to tell you something.

If this resonated, save it.

Nobody warns you about the part that comes after you finally put your foot down…

Maybe for the first time in a long time. And instead of feeling relieved you spent the next three days replaying the conversation, wondering if you were too much, checking to see if they were upset, half considering taking it back just to make the discomfort stop.

Setting the boundary was never the hard part. Learning to sit with the guilt of having it is. And that guilt doesn’t mean you did something wrong. It means you did something new.

Athletes are taught to push through. But nobody talks about what that actually costs.

This is part 1 of 10 on the biggest myths about athlete mental health. Save this one because the next 9 are going to challenge everything you think you know.

Can we talk about something for a second?

Because our society seems to have confused being busy with being okay.

When things slow down it feels uncomfortable, almost wrong, so we add another task, another meeting, another thing to stay ahead of the feeling. But that’s not productivity. That’s anxiety with somewhere to be.

Perfectionism isn’t making you better. It’s just making everything take longer.

You rewrote the email four times before sending it. You waited until everything was perfect before starting. You finished something and immediately spotted everything wrong with it instead of what you got right.

That’s not high standards. That’s fear.

Because perfectionism was never really about the work. It’s about the belief that if something you do is flawed, so are you.

All jokes aside 😅.

The real achievement is when you start seeing the benefits of the work you put in.

The moment when something shifts. When you catch yourself responding differently. Or when you realize that you have the power to change your life.

And how lucky am I ? To hold space to watch is all happen.

Self care didn’t fix your burnout. And it’s not because you weren’t doing it right.

It’s because bubble baths aren’t a substitute for boundaries. Face masks don’t undo the emails you answered at 10pm. Early bedtimes don’t address the fact that you said yes when every part of you meant no.

Real self care isn’t what you do after you’ve given everything away. It’s learning to stop giving it all away in the first place.

Save this if it landed. Link in bio when you’re ready.

Say it with me...

You’re not difficult.
You’re not too sensitive.
And you’re definitely not a pushover.

You’re just someone who learned that keeping the peace was easier than speaking up. That saying yes kept things smooth. That putting yourself last was somehow the responsible thing to do.

But there’s a cost to always being the easy one. And if you’re reading this, you probably already feel it.

This isn’t about becoming someone who doesn’t care. It’s about learning that you’re allowed to be on your own list too.

Save this if it resonated. And when you’re ready, the link in bio is a good place to start.

Growing up, mental health wasn’t something we talked about.

You were strong. You figured it out. You sucked it up and kept moving.

I carried that into my athletic career.

And it made me curious about something.

Why are so many of us so capable on the outside and so quietly struggling on the inside?

That question is a big part of why I do this work.

Can you relate ?

What if self-awareness isn’t the problem?

You can be self-aware and still be stuck.

Especially if you’re high-functioning enough to push through it.

Because functioning isn’t the same as actually changing.

If this resonated, my link in bio is a good place to start.
