Last week, I rewatched The Shawshank Redemption, and this iconic quote reminded me of something I see far too often in the corporate world.
Every organization has its brightest birdsโthe high performers who consistently deliver results, elevate those around them, and lead by example. They don't just meet expectations; they redefine them.
Yet many organizations lose these exceptional people, not because they found a better paycheck, but because they stopped feeling valued.
Top talent doesn't leave on a whim.
They leave when:
Their contributions go unnoticed.
Growth opportunities disappear.
Trust is replaced by micromanagement.
Their passion is met with indifference.
They are expected to carry the weight while others remain unaccountable.
Great leaders understand that exceptional people don't need to be controlledโthey need to be empowered.
The goal isn't to keep your best people in a cage.
The goal is to create an environment where they can soar while choosing to stay.
As leaders, our responsibility is simple:
โ
Recognize their impact.
โ
Invest in their growth.
โ
Give them meaningful challenges.
โ
Celebrate their successes.
โ
Protect them from unnecessary bureaucracy and burnout.
Because when leaders fail to protect their best people, someone else will welcome them with open arms.
Leadership is not about retaining employees through obligation. It's about creating a culture where your brightest talent never wants to leave.

One thing Iโve learned through , , and is that clarity does not always arrive before action โ sometimes, is created through action. Even on difficult days, small intentional steps can shift our energy, mindset, and momentum forward.
We also explored the balance between being an and a โ not as competing forces, but as partners that help us grow with both ambition and reflection.
And finally, if your brain had a pop-up on a hard day, what would that be? Listen to mine, I hope it inspires you to continue, even on a hard day, to make it a good one.
Thank you, Edytte Hara, for creating space for authentic conversations that remind people they are not alone in navigating challenges, growth, and uncertainty.
If this resonates with you, Iโd love to hear:

Itโs easy to focus on the situation.
But in my experience, real growth begins when we shift our focus to our response.
In careers, this shows up in subtle but powerful ways:
When your work is overlookedโฆ
When opportunities are not obviousโฆ
When you feel ready, but the room doesnโt reflect it yetโฆThat moment right there โ how you respond โ often defines what happens next.
From my perspective as a Life & Leadership Coach who works closely with IT Executives and Leaders, Iโve seen that career acceleration is rarely just about competence.
Itโs about:
How do you position yourself when things are uncertain
How you communicate your value when itโs not immediately recognized
How you build visibility and trust without losing your authenticity
Because your situation may shape the moment, but your response shapes your trajectory.
Thatโs exactly what weโll be unpacking in this upcoming Fireside Chat:
Not just what to doโฆbut how to show up when it matters most.

If youโve ever felt stuck despite doing the right things, this conversation will give you a new way to approach your next move.
Join us live or catch the recording โ either way, come ready to reflect, rethink, and respond differently.
We look forward to seeing you & be of value.
Thank you to Charles Igwe for his excellent leadership in bringing this to light and to my fellow co-leaders part of this fireside chat Germain Aoun and Dr. Mona Carlos Akram Zoughaib, PmP

AI doesnโt become intelligent by accident. It becomes powerful through training, feedback, correction, and continuous improvement.
Your mind works the same way.
The difference isโAI is trained ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ.
But most minds are trained
By:
โ
What we repeatedly consume
โ
What we allow ourselves to believe
โ
What we rehearse in our thoughts daily
Over time, this โ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐โ shapes:
How we respond under pressure
How we make decisions
How we see ourselves and others
Hereโs the leadership insight:
They pause and ask:
Is this reaction trained or intentional?
Is this belief helping or limiting performance?
What data am I feeding my mind daily?
Because just like AI:
But thereโs one key difference.
So the question is not:
โAre you being trained?โ
The question is:
Remember you are more powerful than AI.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

AI is transforming the way we workโฆ but beneath the surface, something deeper is happening.
Faster tools. Higher expectations. Constant change. And quietlyโburnout is rising.
The real challenge isnโt just learning AIโฆitโs protecting our ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ, ๐๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ in the process.

This weekend, Carlos rewrote history โ becoming the youngest man to complete a Career Grand Slam at just 22 in the world of Tennis, surpassing even the greats like , , and .
An extraordinary achievementโฆ yet what stood out even more was โ๐๐ค โ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก.
โ Not with arrogance.
โ Not with entitlement.
But with humility, gratitude, and inclusiveness.
โ
He acknowledged his team.
โ
Respected his opponents.
โ
Stayed grounded in the process.
Thatโs a lesson far bigger than sport.
Itโs built quietly โ through ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ก๐๐๐๐ฆ, ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก focused on growth rather than applause.
For leaders, professionals, and dreamers, this is a powerful reminder:
โ You donโt need to win everything today.
โ You need to commit to your journey and keep showing up with integrity.
Taking inspiration from this achievement:
What are the career grand slams youโve planned for yourself?

Stay humble.
โ
Play the long game.
Wishing you the best!

Weโve officially crossed the first week of 2026, and now itโs time to get into the thick of things.
Often, we end the year feeling unsatisfied - not because we lack energy or ambition, but because
โก ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ without Direction and
๐งญ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง without Energyโฆboth will lead you nowhere.
Simply put:
๐ฅ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง gives you satisfaction.
So, ask yourself:
Do I have a clear roadmap for 2026?
๐
Do I have a calendar that turns goals into action?
โ
Start the year with ๐๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง and end it with ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
Break your goals into actionable steps, assign them dates, and revisit weekly to stay on track.
๐ Whatโs ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐จ๐๐ฅ youโre committed to achieving this year? Share in the comments!
Reach out for a quick session to turn your ambitions into action, build your roadmap, and gain clear direction.
Make this year intentional, focused, and fulfilling! Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead!

Have you ever felt that - even though you are
โ
Skilled (technically strong in what you do in life or at work)
โ
Committed (hardworking), and
โ
Full of ideas
โ Your growth still feels stalled?
You may wonder where the issue is.
Often, it's not a skills problem.
It's an ๐ข๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ that we don't always realize is there.
Think you're not a leader?
Pause for a moment.
You donโt need a title to be a lead.
Leadership shows up in how you make decisions,
โ๏ธHow you ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ง๐๐ others and
โ๏ธHow you ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ to challengesโ
at work (as an individual contributor or manager) and in life.
Thatโs the ๐๐๐ฐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐.
It reminds us that our impact - personal or professional - can only grow to the level of our leadership capacity.
When we invest in:
Self-awareness,
Reflection and
How we show up for others,
growth follows naturally.
In this short video, I share:
A simple story that applies to all of us
โก๏ธ Why effort alone doesnโt remove the ceiling
Practical ways to raise your leadership lid
Your turn:
If you would like to explore how to remove that ceiling and take your next step toward excellence, feel free to reach out.
Wishing you continued growth and success.
