The Sun’s Long Kiss 💋 Happy Solstice, y’all! ☀️
What a joy and pleasure to move on the green grass, in the speckled shade of the trees under the blue sky, sun shining and soft breeze. A perfect doorway into summer.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Solstice Be Moved. Be Still. practice in the park.
We shared an incredible morning animating our breath and bodies through self-attunement and play with abstract tools inspired by .
Rituals grounded in the cycles of nature are powerful vehicles for making sense of transition, helping us realign our inner lives with the macro-rhythms of our environment. Practicing together at the solstice is an act of remembering our connection to one another, and our larger ecological and ancestral tapestries.
“How again today our patron star whose ancient vista is the long view turns its wide brightness now and here.
…Our earthly time is sweetening from this.”

Letting the Sn**ch Fly! 🚀
Over the last 4 weeks in Movement Lab: Strength & Skill, we dialed in the details of the Kettlebell Sn**ch. We focused on overhead mobility/positioning, improving hip drive, finessing the hand insertion, taming the arc, and ripping the drop. We built the skill, refined the technique, and built the engine. 🔥
To wrap up the series, we shifted gears from refining technique to higher-volume conditioning.
A great way to test power endurance and grip strength is with an ascending-descending rep ladder:
📊 The 1-5-1 Rep Scheme:
1 rep/side ➡️ 2 ➡️ 3 ➡️ 4 ➡️ 5, then work back down ➡️ 4 ➡️ 3 ➡️ 2 ➡️ 1
🎯 The Goal
Seamless transitions, crisp lockouts, and unbroken volume.
What’s Next?
This Tuesday (tomorrow), we launch a brand NEW theme for Strength & Skill. Join us for a 4-week dive into quadrupedal and low gait locomotion. This is an incredible way to build adaptability, coordination, mobility, and whole-body endurance.

More Stops on the Road to the Sn**ch 🔥
The Three-Level Elbow Swing (often called the T-Rex 🦖 Swing) is a beautiful way to learn how to tame the kettlebell arc and guide your energy vertically.
By adding the vertical jump/land and the dead-start kettlebell sn**ch, each repetition becomes a distinct, high-focus event. This makes it an incredible tool for neurological conditioning—teaching your nervous system exactly what a perfectly coordinated, maximum-effort hip snap feels like every single time, without relying on momentum.
Finally, we explore how that technique and timing translate to the standard continuous sn**ch. Here, explosive power meets the organic fluid momentum of the previous repetition’s drop to fuel the next ascent.
By popular demand, we’re continuing one more week of Strength & Skill: Spotlight on the Kettlebell Sn**ch.
Join Andre next Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30 PM.

Celebrating 15 Years!
When we first opened our doors, we envisioned an urban refuge where movement, wellbeing, and community building could intersect.
Over 15 years, we’ve tended to this vision as it took root and flourished in ways we never could have predicted.
We have shared countless hours of practice, navigated seasons of growth and challenge, and experienced firsthand the profound power of showing up for one another.
Our studio thrives as a space that adapts alongside the shifting needs of our community and our own continuous development. We have evolved together through a long-term, unfolding relationship that prioritizes depth of inquiry and human connection.
What continues to move us is your dedication, curiosity, and engagement. Whether you joined us in our first year or our fifteenth, you are the heartbeat of Spirit Loft.
With deep gratitude,
Andre & Catalina
