SBA Blues Basketball | Scarborough Basketball Association Scarborough Basketball Association offers house league, elite and rep basketball teams, as well as camps and clinics for boys and girls.

For 29 years, Ted Ferreira has been helping build basketball in Scarborough.

He first started coaching with the SBA in 1997 when he wanted to introduce his eldest son, Teddy, to the game. Nearly three decades later, Ted is still coaching, now helping coach his granddaughter alongside his son.

That is what 30 Seasons Strong is all about.

Families growing with the program. Parents stepping forward. Players becoming coaches. Generations sharing the same gyms, the same lessons, and the same love for the game.

In our latest Built by Coaches story, Ted reflects on coaching his sons, learning when to be a coach and when to be a parent, winning his first Provincial Championship, and the reward of seeing former players grow into successful young men and women.

Ted’s story is a reminder that the SBA has been built by people who cared enough to step forward.
