Jung Do Kwan “

“school of the righteous way”

Founded in 1956 by Yong Woo Lee, Jung Do Kwan was the last of the original nine Kwans that went on to form the Kukkiwon-style of Taekwon-Do.

Yong Woo Lee was an original student of the Chung Do Kwan. When he decided to leave Chung Do Kwan he was advised by the Chung Do Kwan president to choose a similar name to so he chose Jung Do Kwan:

Yong Woo Lee’s Jung Do Kwan style of training attracted many students from other schools. To keep up with the interest, Lee taught five different classes often finishing late at night. With the school's motto, "I am an honorable man without shame", the Jung Do Kwan opened additional schools accross Korea

Young Woo Lee died in August 2006 in Seoul, Korea. Until his death, he remained active in the World Taekwondo Federation, and served on the promotion committee.

Jung Do Kwan still exists today, but only as a social friendship club. The official training curriculum endorsed by Taekwondo Jung Do Kwan is the Kukkiwon curriculum.

Han Moo Kwan, “Korean Military School”

Founded in August 1954 by Kyo Yoon Lee who was a student of Sang Sap Chun at the Chosun Yun Moo Kwan Kwon Bob.

Kyo Yoon Lee started teaching the returning Yun Moo Kwan Kwon Bop Bu members at the Hankuk Chaeyuk Kwan Dojang in 1953 after the Korean War Aristice Agreement.

Having had conflicts with Chong-Woo Lee, he left to start his own Kwan by setting up a tent at a high school. Later, Chong-woo Lee changed the Yun Moo Kwan Kwon Bop Bu's name to Jidokwan.

Han Moo Kwan still exists today, but only as a fraternal social friendship club.
