Thanks to Hashimoto Bailey sensei for showing me how to read this. I was given this in Japan but I couldn’t decipher the kanji other than the obvious ones (無、一) and such.
Here is what it means:
The Zen phrase "無一物中無尽蔵" (Mu ichi motsu chū mujin zō) translates fully in English to “Not a single thing exists, but therein lies an inexhaustible treasury” or “In having nothing, there is an infinite store [of potential].”
Meaning of the Phrase
* Not a Single Thing (無一物 - Mu ichi motsu): Releasing all material attachments, obsessions, and ego to achieve a state of pure emptiness or freedom.
* Inexhaustible Treasury (無尽蔵 - Mujin zō): The realization that once you let go of these limitations, the universe opens up with boundless potential, wisdom, and richness.
Deeper Zen Meaning: When you let go of all ego, material possessions, worries, and mental attachments ("having nothing"), your mind becomes completely open and free. In that state of pure emptiness, you realize that the universe holds infinite possibilities, wisdom, and boundless spiritual wealth
