This design takes inspiration from the mosaic facade of the Nadir Divan-begi Madrasa, the 17th century islamic school that is now a historic monument, Unesco World Heritage Site, and key piece of the Ancient City of Bukhara.

We began with a blue base layered with our own mosaic motifs, adding the Simurgh, the central asian mythical bird of happiness that is also displayed in the site’s mosaic facade, flying across the shirt from the left shoulder.
