Western Warriors AAA/AA/A Tryout Registration
2026–2027 Season

The Western Warriors are excited to announce registration for the 2026–2027 AAA/AA/A tryouts!

As we continue to grow our program, we are committed to improving our tryout process each season to ensure it is fair, consistent, and focused on player development. This year we have made several enhancements to our evaluation process and look forward to seeing all athletes compete for a position within the Western Warriors program.

Registration Fee

Tryout Registration: $100 per player

Tryout Format

The tryout process will consist of a total of five on-ice sessions(There will be cuts following the 3rd and possibly 4th ice session) :

Ice Time #1 – Skating Evaluation
Ice Time #2 – Puck Skills & Individual Skill Evaluation
Ice Time #3 – Controlled Scrimmage/Game Situations
Ice Time #4 – Scrimmage
Ice Time #5 – Scrimmage

Following the third ice session, the initial player selections and reductions will be made.

U11 & U13 Tryout Process

For the first three ice sessions, all U11 and U13 players registered for AAA and AA tryouts will participate together.

This means that players wishing to try out for AA only are still required to attend the first three evaluation sessions alongside the AAA candidates.

After the third ice session:

Players remaining in contention for U13AAA/U11AA teams will continue together for the final two scrimmage sessions.
Remaining players in contention for the AA/A teams will be contacted to participate in the evaluation process for AA/A team selection at their respective age divisions.

This structure allows every player to receive the same skill evaluations while providing additional game situations to help determine final team placements.

U9 AA, U15 AA & U18A Tryouts

For the U9 AA, U15 AA, and U18A divisions, all registered players will participate in the first three scheduled tryout sessions.

Following the third ice time, the number of participants will be reduced based on the evaluations completed during those sessions. The remaining players will continue through the final two scrimmage sessions as coaches complete their team selections.

Enhanced Evaluation Process

To further improve the consistency and accuracy of player evaluations, the Western Warriors will be utilizing a new digital evaluation platform this season. This system will provide evaluators with a more structured approach to recording observations and ranking players throughout the tryout process.

Our objective is to ensure every player is evaluated fairly using consistent criteria throughout all five sessions.

Coaching Applications

Coaches for the 2026–2027 season will be announced following the third tryout session.

If you are interested in coaching a Western Warriors team this season, we encourage you to submit a coaching application before the tryout process begins.

🥅 Goalie Gear Inventory 🥅

We’re working on updating our goalie equipment inventory and would appreciate everyone’s help!

If your goalie currently has any association-owned goalie gear, please send us a message letting us know:

- What equipment you have
- The size of each item

If you still have any association gear that isn’t being used or won’t be needed this season, please arrange to return it as soon as possible.

We’d like to have an accurate inventory completed for our upcoming meeting so we know what equipment we have available and what may be needed.

Please share this with any goalie parents you know so we can make sure we reach everyone!
