Our next Family Fun Night is coming up Friday, September 11, and we’re showing Minions & Monsters! 🎬🍿

Come in your favourite Minions PJs (or any favourite jammies!), bring a blanket and stuffie, and get comfy for the movie. We’ll have burgers, chicken fingers, fries and treats available too! 🍔🍟

👉 Don’t forget to register your family! It helps us plan for seating, popcorn...and how many hungry Minions we need to feed! 😄

We’re busy behind the scenes putting together our Fall 2026 program schedule — and there’s lots to look forward to! 👀✨

Programs will begin the week of September 14, with a mix of returning favourites and new opportunities to get active, get creative, connect and have some fun at the Rec Centre. 🏓🧘‍♀️🎨💪

Three weeks of Kids Zone Summer Club are already in the books, and what a great start to the summer it's been! ☀️

Here are a few snapshots from Weeks 2 and 3. While we don't have many photos to share (we're always mindful of respecting families' photo permissions), these projects and behind-the-scenes moments offer a little glimpse into all the fun we've been having!

🌼 During Dig, Dirt & Discover Week, our young artists created beautiful tissue paper flower mosaics.

🌋 Creative Engineering Week has been full of hands-on fun, from building catapults to making volcanoes erupt!

🥷 When poor air quality kept us indoors, our gym mats became the perfect setting for an energetic game of Ninja.

💦 And when the weather finally cooperated, we were ready! Our Children's Program Coordinator, Adam, spent time filling water balloons, while assistants Kaelen and Preethi were outside with the kiddos making sure our Water Day was a splashing success.

A huge thank you to our Kids Zone staff for their creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm, and to all of our campers for their patience, cooperation, and positive attitudes during a week when the smoky air meant changing our plans. You embraced every change with smiles, and together we made the best of every day.

The summer is flying by, but the fun isn't over yet! We still have a few spaces available in some of our remaining weeks. If you've been thinking about joining us, we'd love to welcome your child for the rest of the summer. 🌞

🌫️ Air Quality Update for Kids Zone Families

Due to today's poor air quality caused by forest fire smoke, we'll be moving our programming indoors to help keep our campers safe and healthy.

The good news? We have a full day of fun planned in our air-conditioned space! 🎨🎲🏗️

Our campers will enjoy a variety of active indoor games, creative activities, STEM challenges, team-building activities, and plenty of opportunities to learn, play, and have fun together.

We're also excited to welcome special guests over the next couple of days to add even more excitement to our indoor programming!

The health and well-being of our campers is always our top priority, and we'll continue to monitor both the weather and air quality, adjusting our plans as needed.

If your child is registered today, we encourage you to send them along—they're in for another great day at Kids Zone! 💙

🌲✨ Week 1 adventures: complete! ✨🌲

Our Kids Zone Summer Club kicked off with curiosity, creativity, laughter… and a whole lot of exploring!

This week our Wilderness Explorers discovered that sometimes the best adventures are waiting right outside the door. Today’s scavenger hunt had campers searching, noticing, imagining, and exploring the wooded spaces around the Centre — turning familiar trails and trees into a place for discovery. 🌿🔎

From crafts and games to new friendships and outdoor adventures, it has been amazing watching our first campers bring Kids Zone to life.

A huge thank you to our Program Team for all the planning, creativity, and energy they poured into our very first week. 💚

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings!
