September 27 will be our last day in our current space, and we want to spend it doing what we love skating!

Join us September 27 from 1–5 PM for a FREE COMMUNITY SKATE! 🛹

Come skate, hang out and celebrate everything we’ve built at Cinema 5. We’ll have food, drinks, prizes and lots of skating as we celebrate our last day in this space.

Starting September 6th, FBC skates are back! Come skate with us every Sunday in September.
10 AM–12 PM
10–11 | Instruction
11–12 | Free skate + one-on-one time with instructors

ONE LAST MONTH AT CINEMA 5 🛹

This is a hard post to write, but it’s also one we write with a whole lot of pride.

At the end of September, Cinema 5 Skatepark will be closing the doors to our home on Cumberland Street.

When we started this journey, we had a goal: to create a safe, inclusive space where people could skateboard, find community and feel like they belonged.

Together, we did that, and so much more.

Last year alone, we delivered more than 50 programs, events and community initiatives, from FBC and adaptive skate to Autism programming, Northern and Indigenous programming, mental health, gang intervention, camps, schools and community outreach.

We are incredibly proud of what this park became.

After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision not to renew the lease on our current space.

But this isn’t goodbye.

We’re looking ahead at the opportunity to rebuild and create a new space, with our community involved in helping shape what that next home could look like.

For now, we have one last month to skate together. 🛹

Looking for something different this summer?

Our Summer Skateboard Camps are designed for kids ages 6–12 of all skill levels — whether they’ve never stepped on a board before or are ready to learn new tricks.

🛹 No experience needed
🛹 Equipment provided
🛹 All abilities welcome
🛹 Safe, supportive environment
🛹 Make new friends and build confidence

Every summer we watch kids walk through our doors nervous and unsure, then leave landing tricks, making friends, and believing in themselves.

The best part? They don’t even realize how much they’re learning because they’re having too much fun.

Spaces are available throughout the summer.
