Hi Gang!
We are working hard on registration details for the upcoming Fall Session. Our first class will be THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD, with registration forms available online by the last week of August.
Now is the time to chat with your friends and family, and to plan ahead for karate in your fall flow. Let's get ready for an incredible karate season!
Details:
1. Training will be the same time, place, and location as last year
(Tuesdays: 4pm & 5pm, Thursdays 5:45pm & 6:45pm,
2nd Floor of the Centennial Arena)
The two earlier classes are 'Family' and welcome ALL ages and stages. The later classes are directed to all adults, as well as advanced teens.
We recomend attending at least 2 classes a week,
adults are welcome to attend all 4.
2. The Membership Fee is a set fee for the full session.
It is helpful to view it like tuition for a course. Fees are due upon registration and need to be paid in full by the first class.
(Families who are in need of a structured payment plan-- providing full session payment through postdated cheques-- are invited to contact us BEFORE the first class.)
Please note, we are implementing an 'add/drop' date of September 15th (Fall Session) and January 15th (Winter Session). We will not be accepting new junior students after those dates. A student may withdraw before that date and receive a membership refund, minus a set admin fee.
3. Registration is 7 years of age and up.
When considering registration, ensure your student/child is ready to pay attention for the whole session, without a formal break. They should be able to hold their bladder for the length of the class, receive feedback, and embrace physical exertion with a positive attitude. We stongly encourage parents to consider joining with their child, and training alongside them.
(We also wanted to note that, due to scheduling, we will NOT be hosting a kids karate day camp this sumer. We look forward to offering more off-session opportunities to connect as we grow, while also finding flow within training, work, school, and family.)
4. Finally, we LOVE our local community and hope to see more adults, couples, and college students join us this year. Maybe your coworker would like to join with you, perhaps your spouse, what about Grandpa? We look forward to growing a rooted longterm community within this town.
Please contact us with your questions and feedback.
We look forward to training with you!

Connor Haper and Jeremy Daniels visited the ISKF Dojo in Calgary this week for some intense extra training. We are looking forward to planning more excursions like this in the future as the Kneehill Karate Club looks to grow alongside our fellow karate-ka. Osu!

This session is aimed at ages 7-12, with parents welcome to be on the floor as well, if desired.
Teens/Adults will be 2:00-2:50pm
We would LOVE to see more college students, couples, adults of all ages join our community this year. Grab a friend, make it a date, dive in. If you were a parent on the floor with your kiddo at 1:00pm, feel free to dive into this one as well for some more one-to-one.
This is an excellent opportunity for them to try it—no risk, no cost, just a welcome invitation to see if karate might be a good fit for them.
Structure:
- Wear a t-shirt and loose pants (sweats, scrubs, etc)
Please no tanks, crops, leggings, or shorts.
These sessions are entirely introductory. We will move slowly, hold space for questions, share a basic experience of what stepping into Shotokan can look like.
This is your invitation. Come and see what karate could look like in your story!

We are excited and humbled to announce that we, Jeremy and Deanna Daniels, have achieved the rank of Shodan after participating in the ISKF seminar and exam in Calgary with the incredible Sensei David Jones . We are filled with gratitude, and deeply aware of the challenge ahead as we step into this new beginning. Thank you for your support. There are wonderful things ahead!🥋
Reminder:
It's our second Summer Training session this evening-- a bonus workshop for students who trained with us in the past year, or new students with karate experience.
We are offering this at no cost.
