— Another new archer joined us at Barefoot Bushcraft, learning the fundamentals of traditional archery and putting them straight into practice.
There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching someone draw the bow, settle into the shot, let the arrow go — and then walk downrange to discover just how well they did.
And yes… that’s a pretty respectable bullseye. 🎯
Archery isn’t about strength. It’s about consistency, posture, breathing, focus, and learning to repeat the same clean movement over and over again. For many first-time archers, that moment when the arrows begin grouping around the centre is when everything suddenly clicks.

Every hammock camper has said it:
“Just one quick adjustment.”
4:15 PM: Six inches. That’s all.
5:02 PM: Almost got it.
Sometimes setting up camp is equal parts geometry, instinct and refusing to admit that the first hang was probably fine.
