Norman Northstars Coaching Staff Announcement 🏒

The Norman Northstars are excited to announce the remainder of our coaching staff for the upcoming season!

🔹 Welcome Back, Assistant Coach Clark Scaddan!

A proud Thompson, Manitoba product, Clark played three seasons with the Northstars before continuing his junior hockey career with the Fort Frances Lakers (SIJHL) and the Timmins Rock (NOJHL). After returning to the Northstars bench as an assistant coach last season, we're thrilled to have Clark back for another year to help develop the next generation of Northstars.

🔹 Welcome Assistant Coach Rory McKie!

Another Thompsonite, Rory's playing career included stops with the Thunder Bay Wolverines (SIJHL), OCN Blizzard (MJHL), and Selkirk Steelers (MJHL). Over the past seven years, he has coached at multiple levels, including U13 AA, U18 AA, and Junior B with the NCN Flames. His experience as both a player and coach will be a tremendous asset to our program.

🥅 Welcome Goalie Coach Tyler Davis!

Also from Thompson, Tyler played his minor hockey years with Thompson Minor Hockey before spending two seasons with the U18 AAA Northstars. With 15 years of coaching experience in minor hockey, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for developing young goaltenders. We're excited to have him join our coaching staff this season.

📋 Welcome Back, Team Manager Rob Bassett!

Returning for his seventh season as Team Manager, Rob continues to be an invaluable part of the Northstars organization. His dedication, organization, and behind-the-scenes work help ensure our players and coaching staff have everything they need throughout the season. We're grateful to have Rob back for another year.

Please join us in welcoming Clark, Tyler, Rory, and Rob to the Northstars staff as we look forward to an exciting 2026–27 season!

Norman Northstars Conditioning Camp 💫

The 2026 Norman Northstar Conditioning Camp will be taking place this August at the TRCC. Week 1 of camp will run August 17th-21st. Week 2 of camp will be held the following week of August 24th-28th.

Norman Northstars Head Coach Cody Genaille will be leading the 7:15-9:15pm (15+) group. Tyler Davis will be the head instructor during all goalie sessions. Lastly, Justin Valentino will be leading the rest of the conditioning camp age groups for both weeks.
Dates & Times will be for both weeks of camp!

7-9 (2017-2019) Players & Goalies 9:00am-10:15am

10-12 (2014-2016) Players & Goalies 10:30am-12:00pm

13-14 (2012-2013) Players & Goalies 12:15pm-1:45pm

Goalie Sessions (All Goalies) 6:00pm-7:00pm

15+ (Cap @ 20 years old / Junior ) Players & Goalies 7:15pm-9:15pm

Norman Northstars Tryouts 💫

The 2026 Norman Northstar Tryouts will be taking place this August 28th-30th at the Thompson Regional Community Centre.

The registration fee to tryout for the Norman Northtars is $180.00 and must paid in full before players can step onto the ice.

Dates & Times of Tryouts:

Friday, August 28th Player Registration:
2:00pm - 4:00pm - Norman Northstar Dressing Room (1)

Players will receive their schedule and information regarding the team they are on for tryouts.

Friday, August 28th Ice times:
Team A & B Skate 6:00pm - 7:15pm
Team C & D Skate 7:30pm - 8:45pm

Saturday, August 29th Ice times:
Goalie Session 9:00am - 10:00am
Team A & B Game 10:15am - 11:30am
Team C & D Game 11:45 - 1:00pm
Team A & C Game 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Team B & D Game 4:45 - 6:15pm

**Blue & White Game Line up will be posted in TRCC LOBBY & Social Media @ 7:00pm**
