The CAPERS Academy and Soccer Cape Breton, through our Minis and Skill Centre programs, is proud of our partnership with the powerhouse goCAPERSgo Varsity soccer franchises.
We feel the impact it has made has already been remarkable.
In the Boys Academy Jamie Nicholson, Kieran Maddock, Amadou Bayo, Harvey Hughes, Luka Palajsa, Mateo Goldsztein, Max Piepgrass, Ryan Wadden and many others have been great mentors to our players.
In the Girls Academy Ally Rowe, Charly Mitchell, Grace Hannaford, Ellie Lancaster, Makenna Acevedo and now AFC Toronto striker Lauren Rowe and others have been female role models.
And that's before you mention the superb impact of this season's U17AAA Girls Head Coach Elle MacDougall and 2025 CAPERS captain Joe Mac who are now such influential figures in the growth of our players as hugely popular coaches.
Now the 2026 Men's team is here with an incredible 14 new faces and Monday night is your soccer player's first chance to meet them!
CAPERS are hosting a special Meet and Greet session in conjunction with Soccer Cape Breton that will include some fun 4 v 4 games on the field, a signing session and then your chance to watch the new players for FREE in the first inter-squad match of the season.

CAPERS Academy U15AAA Girls are Maritime Cup Finalists!
The island squad battled bravely yesterday in the semi-final at Mainland Commons in Halifax to down powerhouse Suburban FC 2-1 with goals from Evelyn Power and Zoe Watson.
Now the squad, expertly guided by goCAPERSgo double USPORTS National title-winning coach Deano Morley, will face United DFC for the inaugural Maritime title at Saint Mary's University this afternoon. The game is a 1pm kick-off.
The game will be live streamed by hosts Soccer Nova Scotia and you can cheer the girls on there from afar, let them feel your support!
This is a landmark day for the CAPERS Academy after 12 clubs from across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI set out on the quest to be called the Queens of the Maritime.

Soccer Cape Breton and the CAPERS Academy said goodbye to a player who has been a poster child for all that is good in the game on the island yesterday.
Alyse Tierney has been a role model on and off the field as a player with Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial teams as she has come through the ranks with first CBFC and then the Academy.
Not content with becoming a superb midfielder, Alyse has also shone as a coach working as Minis/Skill Centre coordinator and has given back to her community as a mentor to younger players.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King, pictured with Alyse below, said: "In the four years I have been on the island I have watched Alyse grow into a shining example of the type of player and person we want to help produce.
"She comes from a true Cape Breton soccer family who must be so proud of her development.
"We will miss her greatly around this place but we can't wait to see the next chapters in her story."
Alyse has deservedly won a Varsity slot with Acadia University and we wish her every success with her soccer and her studies.

CAPERS Academy U18AA Boys have punched their ticket to the Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial Championships - and will host!
Congratulations to goCAPERSgo 2025 Men's Soccer captain Joe Mac, a Canada Soccer C Licence candidate this year through Soccer Cape Breton, who has sparkled in his first season as a Head Coach.
This shows the educational pathway between the Varsity programs and the Academy in its best light as the players and leaders CBU produces help to nurture the next generation.
