Two years of consistent training. Countless sessions. And a lot of growth along the way🏀💪
Now, he’s taking the next step in his basketball journey, heading to school in the States.
Great athletes aren’t built overnight. They’re built through consistency, proper coaching, patience, and thousands of small improvements over time.
At StrengthCity, the goal isn’t simply to make athletes stronger. It’s to build stronger, more confident, more capable athletes who are prepared when the next opportunity comes.
Proud of the work he’s put in and excited to see where the next chapter takes him. Built for what’s next.

LEAPERS - core strength meets movement.
This isn’t just about getting the wheel farther.
Leapers challenge you to maintain trunk stability while coordinating the hips, shoulders and lower body through movement.
The result?
→ Stronger anterior core
→ Better shoulder stability
→ Greater coordination and body control
→ Improved ability to resist unwanted movement
→ A more athletic approach to core training
The core isn’t just something you train for aesthetics.
It’s the foundation that allows the rest of the body to produce, transfer and control force.
Train the core to move better, not just look better.

CORE KILLERS.
Some exercises train the abs.
Others teach you how to brace your entire body under serious demand.
Core Killers challenge your ability to maintain a strong, rigid trunk as the wheel moves away from you, placing a significant demand on anti extension strength, shoulder stability and total body control.
This is the kind of core strength that carries over to everything else:
Squatting.
Deadlifting.
Running.
Jumping.
Changing direction.
Producing force.
A strong core isn't just about creating movement.
Sometimes, it’s about having the strength to resist it.
Control the body. Control the force.
Message us if you need help building a stronger and more functional core.
Strength is the foundation. Explosiveness is how you use it🏀
Fresh contrast training pairs a strength movement with an explosive movement that challenges the athlete to express force quickly.
For basketball athletes, that means developing more than just the ability to lift heavy.
It means learning to:
→ Produce force
→ Produce it quickly
→ Control it on one leg
→ Apply it dynamically
→ Transfer strength into sport-specific movement
This session combined SSB squats with vertical jumps, barbell split squats with band-assisted split jumps, creating a progression from force production → power → explosive movement.
The goal isn't simply to make athletes stronger in the weight room.
The goal is to build strength that shows up on the court.
Train the qualities your sport demands🏀💪

Lessons from 10+ Years of Coaching: Training Smart vs. Training Hard
One of the biggest mistakes I see is treating every workout like it has to be an all out battle. The reality? Progress isn't built by constantly training at 100%. It's built by knowing when to push and when to hold back.
Training hard is necessary. It's what challenges your body to adapt and get stronger. But training smart is what allows you to recover, stay healthy, and keep showing up week after week, month after month, and year after year.
The strongest athletes and the most consistent lifters aren't the ones who destroy themselves every session. They're the ones who apply the right amount of effort at the right time, trust the process, and play the long game.
Don't just train hard. Train with purpose. That's how you build strength that lasts.
⬇️ Which do you struggle with more: pushing too hard, or not pushing hard enough?

Growth isn't about where you start. It's about refusing to stop improving.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to volunteer at a powerlifting meet. Being surrounded by lifters of every age, experience level, body type, and background was a powerful reminder that strength isn't reserved for the "gifted." It's built by people who keep showing up.
The strongest athletes weren't necessarily the ones lifting the most weight. They were the ones embracing the process, learning from mistakes, celebrating progress, and coming back stronger after setbacks.
That's the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.
A growth mindset doesn't just make you stronger in the gym, it makes you healthier, more resilient, and better equipped for life. It shifts your focus from proving yourself to improving yourself.
Whether your goal is to lose weight, get stronger, compete, or simply move better for your family, your greatest limitation is rarely your genetics, it's the story you tell yourself about what's possible.
Every workout is an opportunity to become a little better than yesterday.
Train your body. Train your mind. Never stop growing. 🌱💪

Strength training isn't about lifting the heaviest weight, it's about building a stronger foundation for sport and life.
When combined with plyometric training, young athletes develop the strength, power, coordination, and body control needed to perform with confidence while becoming more resilient to the demands of their sport.
Invest in the athlete, not just the season.
Heavy is relative. Consistency is universal.
What's heavy for you might be light for someone else, and that's okay.
Progress isn't about lifting what someone else lifts. It's about showing up consistently and getting a little stronger than you were yesterday.
The weight is relative.
The habit is universal.
Consistency beats intensity. Every time.
After over 10 years of coaching, I've seen this over and over:
The people who make the biggest transformations aren't the ones who train the hardest once in a while.
They're the ones who show up week after week, even when they don't feel like it.
A great workout won't change your life. Hundreds of good workouts will.
Don't chase perfect. Chase consistent.
What's one habit you're committed to showing up for this week?
