Got my lift in before most people were out of the house.

New knee wraps. Heavy morning.

The rest of the day is housework, baking, cooking, and schoolwork.

Undoubtedly the best part of my days.

The gym was never about competing. That became a byproduct of it.

I genuinely just love training. The focus, the mind-muscle connection, the contraction, the control. Learning how to make every rep better.

Twenty years later, that part hasn’t changed. Only ever continually evolving.

Refeed day.

Medium rare, please.

Heavy legs before dinner.

After my hysterectomy, I spent a year working with a pelvic-floor physiotherapy specialist.

That year taught me something women are rarely taught: connection to the pelvic floor is not automatic. It has to be built deliberately.

The pelvic floor is not one simple “squeeze harder” muscle. It can be weak, tight, overactive, poorly coordinated, or disconnected from the breath and deep core. Those are not the same thing, and they should not be approached the same way.

I used Kegel apps as part of rebuilding the mind-muscle connection: learning how to contract, how to fully release, and how to stop guessing. This reel covers five options, from free guided apps to paid biofeedback devices that show whether the contraction is actually happening correctly.

The app builds consistency. Biofeedback can give clearer information. Neither replaces a proper assessment when pain, pressure, prolapse symptoms, persistent leaking, or post-surgical recovery are part of the picture.

For me, this quiet practice became the foundation for deeper core work and eventually abdominal vacuuming. First, the brain and pelvic floor have to communicate. Then the work can progress.

Start with connection. Build from there.

Have you used a Kegel app or worked with a pelvic-floor physiotherapist?
