We were proud and thankful to host the Alberta High School Rodeo Association provincial trap shoot today. There were 9 competitors (Riley Baird had to leave to compete in his next rodeo event before we got the group picture). Our sport has a good future! The competitors were safe, respectful, and thankful. They are welcome to shoot with us anytime. It’s great to see young people develop and learn new skills. Today’s world could use more a few more kids like these. Well done shooters!

Day 3 (Singles) of the 2026 Rob Docherty Memorial Trap Shoot is in the books! Another great day (although Mother Nature could have turned the fan off!!! Or at least down about 20 notches! It was windy). A huge thank you to Donna and Don Checkle for taking care of registration for us again this year. Their dedication to the sport of trap shooting is second to none. Also thanks to Rose and Cheryl for cooking all weekend. The food was fantastic. Thank you to our Stettler Trap Club Members (Al, Ross, Ken, Ed, Justin, Vince and Alex) for taking care of all the “details” (scorekeepers, reloading traps. Setup and tear down). It takes a village. And of course thank you to the participants who came from near and far. We appreciate you!

Day 1 of the 2026 Rob Docherty Memorial trap shoot is in the books. A great day, sunny but a little windy (good for an excuse for event 2 from this administrator … seriously how do I go from a 70 to a 57?!?!?!? 🤭🤭🤭). Special thanks to Don and Donna Checkle for doing our registration and to Rose and Cheryl for cooking the food!

It’s currently just spitting at The Stettler Trap Club. The satellite view says it is supposed to stop raining between 9 am and 3 pm. We’ve got 3 guys here so far for the Lawrence Muhlbach Memorial Shoot. We will see who else shows up before making a decision to go ahead or cancel.

Although the weather doesn’t look great for the weekend we ARE going to try and go ahead with the Lawrence Muhlbach Memorial shoot as planned on Saturday, June 20. We will continue to update on Facebook and through our group text message. You can also email the club at [email protected]
