It’s been a bit of a strange summer 🫠😂 for us all, and for blooms but the Hollyhocks are out! And we have two spots in Sarah’s 5:30 mixed level reformer this eve.

Two young lovers. Two feuding families. One story that still hits close to home. This dynamic adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy brings urgency, physical storytelling, and emotional truth to a tale of love caught in the middle of conflict. See Romeo and Juliet in our open-air theatre this season – because at Perchance, there’s drama in nature.

Consider this your sign to take a closer look at the hidden costs of aquaculture:

Polluted waters and weakened wild fish populations.

Crowded sea cages where diseases and sea lice proliferate and spread.

Food insecurity in low-income countries.

And the list goes on...

The Challenge Car Culture team is organizing a fall rally to encourage the City of St. John's to prioritize sidewalk snow clearing in its upcoming budget.

For years frustrated residents have urged the City of St. John's to dedicate the funding necessary to keep sidewalks clear during winter so all residents can get around safely and reliably, but we've seen only minor improvements. Residents with disabilities are shut-in for months at a time. Can we make this winter different?

Join us on Aug 3 via zoom from 5:30 - 7:00 pm NT to discuss.

** Pictured are St. John's residents who filled the gallery in February 2020 after a rally demanding safe sidewalks in honor of Prof. John Shirokoff, who was struck and killed catching the bus on Elizabeth avenue leaving the university in January 2020.

Later that year on Dec 3. 2020. (International Day of PWDs) we held an Accessibility Vigil which successfully reversed proposed metro-bus cuts, though the sidewalk snow clearing matter remains unaddressed!**

Can you help us make a big splash for safe sidewalks this fall?

Alison is now teaching the 7pm Beginner Pilates Mat classes on Thursday evenings starting today. We have lots of calls and messages asking about beginner classes. We actually don’t have many in the schedule which is simply because of numbers. Please come check out this class if you are new to Pilates, curious, or just enjoy a nice (still challenging) foundational level pilates mat class in the evening. We want to keep this class in the schedule so we need bodies on mats!!
