For King and Empire (FK&E) specializes in interactive, costumed historical intepretation for a variety of audiences ranging from the general public to specialist audiences, including groups of students at any level of their education. Additionally, FK&E has acted as historical consultants and have developed programming for a variety of customers including National Historic Sites in Newfoundland an
d Nova Scotia as operated by Parks Canada. FK&E is able to tailor programming to fit the pedagogic needs of academic audiences or the interests of any other audience. Because every military is a cross-section of the society which created it and has the mores and norms of the parent society, the range of topics FK&E is able to deliver on is correspondingly large, for example: sociocultural, material culture study, operational military history, and reconstructed training programs. Generally programming is developed from a microhistorical or "lived experiences" perspective rather than a broader, strategic context which gains nothing from the unique resources FK&E is able to bring to bear. Existing programs include the Camp of Instruction at the Signal Hill National Historic Site in St. John's, Newfoundland, the Fortress Cape Spear guided tour at Cape Spear National Historic Site near St. John's, cooperation with The Army Museum colocated with the Citadel Hill National Historic Site in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the development, capacity-building and delivery of programming in cooperation with the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association. At the Castle Hill National Historic Site in Placentia, Newfoundland, FK&E was pleased to provide interactive microhistorical interpretation and education for groups of students from the local junior and high schools. Additionally, FK&E has cooperated with members of the arts community in Newfoundland and boasts two members with stage experience who are often available to field inquiries or assist with film, stage, and other media productions.
