2026 marked our 84th anniversary. We are Squamish's oldest club! The Squamish Valley Rod and Gun Club is a members only club.

We offer our members outdoor recreation for virtually 12 months of the year as well as the opportunity to prepare for hunting in a safe and controlled area. Our Club celebrated 75 years in 2017 and is the oldest club in Squamish.

Thank you to Holly Reed for presenting the annual SVRGC scholarship awards followed by a thank you letter sent from Michelle Watson at Howe Sound Secondary.

We sincerely appreciate your generous support of our students through the Squamish Valley Rod & Gun Club awards. It was a pleasure to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of our graduating class. Your generous contribution plays a meaningful role in helping students follow their chosen paths—and for some, it may be the key that allows them to pursue post-secondary education. Thank you for making a difference in their future.

Again, on behalf of all staff at Howe Sound Secondary, I sincerely thank you for the support you have given our graduates.

Yours truly,

Michelle

We'd like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who attended today's work party, we accomplished a tonne of ground work! Specific mention goes to Sabre Rentals, Howe Sound Equipment and Silverback Treeworks for donating their time and equipment. We had Northridge and Ashlu on site to work on our plumbing and waterlines today as well. Grounds were cleared, potholes filled and firewood chopped however we are still in need of a Carpenter to assist with the shooting bench repair. Last but not least thank you to Hugo our grounds director for making it all happen with his assistant our vice president Mike B both in high viz outfits today.

Well done Erik!

Meet Erik…AKA “the worst service advisor ever” (his words, not ours 😄)

With 8 years of automotive experience, Erik is a key part of the Squamish Toyota service team. He’s here to make sure your vehicle gets the care it deserves, offering expert advice on maintenance and services to keep you safely on the road for years to come.

A lifelong Squamish local, Erik’s interests go well beyond the shop. He’s a certified pilot who spends time at the Squamish Airport and airfields across the province. He’s also a passionate hunter and part of the admin team at the Squamish Rod and Gun Club.

When he’s not working or flying, you’ll probably find him grabbing a coffee at Tim Hortons or hanging out at Mountain Burger.

Stop by, say hi to Erik; and mention this post for 10% off labour on your next Tire Changeover or Alignment service!

On February 21, 2026 a half-day rimfire non-sanctioned casual PRS/NRL22 shoot will be held for club members and their guests. This will be done in a similar format to our other monthly shoots, running from 8:30am to 1PM.

During this time, approximately half of the rifle range bays will be in use. Other members will still have limited access to the range; however, match operations will take priority for ceasefires and range control, which may result in delays for non-match shooters. If uninterrupted range access is important to you, we recommend planning your visit for another day or later in the afternoon.

EVENT DETAILS:

This will be a beginner-friendly event to introduce new shooters to PRS shooting while providing those experienced an opportunity to practice. Entry will be $10 toward cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.

A bolt-action .22lr rifle or semi-auto .22lr rifle, with a mounted scope with tactical-style elevation turrets and/or a first focal plane reticle with hold-over measurements, is required. A loaner will also be available, but ammo will be $10/50 rounds for the loaner rifle. If you wish to use the loaner, please indicate it on the registration form.

A safety briefing, movement requirements, and scoring will be discussed as a group before shooting begins. If you are completely new to NRL22/PRS style of shooting, you are welcome, but we would recommend watching the video links at the bottom of the email prior to registering.

The course of fire will be four stages derived from existing NRL22 match stages, with modifications to target sizes and distances to simplify the event and timeframe. In addition, a special stage with targets out to 200y will be available for those interested in challenging their skills further.

Shooters should arrive prepared with:

1. 50 rounds of .22lr ammunition for their rifle (CoF will be 45 rounds), plus extra for zeroing or reshoots if needed
2. Scope elevation values or hold-overs for 25–200y in 25y increments
3. Willingness to try new shooting positions and have fun
4. Assistance is available before the shoot depending on interest and availability.
5. A printed copy of stage descriptions and a score sheet will be provided at the match.

Please note: space is limited to 20 shooters. Please respond if you are interested and plan to attend, and please register at Registration Link.
