What a wonderful day we had at the Squamish Spring Scramble!
Thank you so much for coming out and bringing your energy, skills, and incredible spirit to Brennan Park on Saturday, June 13th. The sunshine, the great pickleball, the friendly competition, and the community connection, it was everything we hoped for and more.
We'd also like to give a special shout-out to our amazing organizing committee: Jaymee, Maria, Shiera, Erica, and Neil, along with Pickleball Squamish for making this event possible. And huge thanks to all of our volunteers who showed up day-of to help run things smoothly!
We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors and prize donors:
๐ Valhalla Pure Outfitters, RUX, 7mesh, Justine Brooks, Climb On Equipment, Source for Sports, HEAD Pickleball (via Cliff), Dave Kral, Fox & Oak, Hop Creek Farms, Eco Living Club, and Chef's Bistro.
Your support made this day special and helped us celebrate our community!
Congratulations to all our winners, you played with such heart and skill!

So important to remember this.
๐ฅ MARKโS QUICK TIPS ๐ฅ
PLACEMENT BEATS POWER
Work on your stroke, work on hitting the ball while balanced , connecting with the ball within your circle of reach, (not over-reaching for a ball). If you lean too far into the kitchen (or on court when not moving your feet) all your weight is on your toes, or youโll be off balance, and itโs harder to hit a controlled stroke.
Allow the ball to come to you, donโt rush your stroke and practice aiming the ball at specific points on the court. Swing with a low to high motion brushing the back of the ball creating topspin. Instead of just trying to get the ball over the net, think about placing the ball at a foot or in a certain space. This will help to cut out unforced errors and take your game to a higher level.
