There are fabulous dance teachers, choreographers & classrooms at every dance studio. How can you make sure you’re making the right choice for your family?
1) Values - what does the studio stand for? Check out their website, social media, etc to get a feel for what they value and support.
2) Location, location, location - just like buying a home, where your dance studio is, matters! If your child loves dance, you will be driving there… and back… a lot! Are there other amenities nearby?
3) Get a feel for the studio - ask for a tour, meet the owners, talk to community members or ask on local chat sites.
4) Costs - class fees may be pretty similar everywhere but ask about extraneous or “hidden” fees like costumes, festival or competition fees, rehearsal fees and ticket fees.
5) Check out demos, assessments & drop ins - lots of studios offer free classes or assessments in addition to inexpensive drop in classes over the summer. This is great opportunity to “try before you buy”!
