🎉 Congratulations to our Grade 9 Pirates as they prepare to set sail for high school next year!
Balancing a highly competitive sport with school is no easy task. Between early mornings, long practices, swim meets, regular exams, and PAT’s, these athletes have shown incredible dedication both in and out of the pool. After an amazing year in the water, they have also achieved outstanding success in the classroom.
This year, Henry, Ruby, Maiya, Astra, Sierra, Jackson, and Claire completed their Grade 9 year while continuing to represent the Pirates with hard work, commitment, and determination.
Honours with Distinction is awarded to students who achieve 85% or higher in a core class. Henry, Ruby, Maiya, Astra, and Sierra earned this distinction in all 4 of their core subjects.
The Award of Excellence recognizes the highest overall grade in a subject. Astra, Maiya, and Sierra shared the Award of Excellence in Science, Astra earned the Award of Excellence in Math, and Maiya received the Award of Excellence in English. Jackson was also recognized for his achievements through his nomination for the French Immersion Award of Excellence.
Outside the classroom, Maiya also captured the Parkland County Athletic Association Track & Field Aggregate Medal for Senior Girls!
We are incredibly proud of everything these athletes have accomplished this year. Their dedication, perseverance, and ability to excel both academically and athletically is inspiring.
As you begin this exciting new chapter, we wish each of you the very best as you take on the adventure of high school. Good luck and have fun! 💚🏴☠️
