Finally August is here and we can fish Sooke waters, fishing is good with Springs and Coho! We had to throw some bigger ones back yesterday also, only can be up to 75cm what a joke everywhere else is 80cm. Fisheries have no idea what’s going on out here!

Well first trip of the year for Halibut with the new Minn Kota system was awesome only out for a few hours! Donna is lucky lol

We hit some nice winter Springs today! Also new regulations out we can fish for 1 Hatchery Spring per license in a specific area in Beecher Bay Area from April 1 to July 31! Then looks like August will be open for us to fish Springs, it’s something at least we can get out on the water and fish! Could have been worse!

This is my 40th and last year of Guiding in 2026! It has been an incredible journey meeting so many wonderful clients and friends over the years.Thank you all for the support,memories,and many unforgettable days on the water.The only ones Happy are Donna and the Fish lol.Chinook are open now till the end of March this might be the last time you can catch this fish possibly till September 1 ! I am taking bookings now for Salmon and Halibut open April 1st ,have a special rate for March and will match any other guides rates! Booking August providing we can fish also September and October. Merry Christmas to all my great clients and friends wishing you all the best for you and your families! I am taking bookings for next year even though the salmon season for next year is up in the air and it could possibly change when Fisheries make their decision on our Chinook season? Will be fishing February and March 2026 for sure!

Had a great day Fishing with this family who had never fished before bit of a learning curve! We hit about 30 coho lost lots but did ok overall was fun!

Done by 9 am lots of springs out there, released 3 lost one to a seal lion great day,great guys! Was lots of fun.
Well my Buddy Brian (FISH)still leading Cheanuh Derby we were done by 8am! Was 80cm - 18.7lbs.
