The ice is in, the gear is coming back out, and another season of Sooke Minor Hockey is officially getting underway!

As we begin a new year, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible group of people working behind the scenes to make it all happen.

A huge THANK YOU to our Association Executive, Divisional Coordinators, Directors at Large, coaches, managers and the many volunteers who give their time, energy and experience to our players and our hockey community.

From organizing teams and schedules, to coaching, development, equipment, officiating, fundraising, communications and everything in between — minor hockey simply doesn’t happen without volunteers.

And of course, welcome back to all of our players and families! Whether this is your very first season with Sooke Minor Hockey or you’ve been part of our hockey family for years, we’re so glad to have you with us.

Here’s to a season filled with development, teamwork, friendships, sportsmanship, great memories and lots of fun at the rink.

No Equipment? No Experience? No Problem!!
For children between the ages of 6 – 10, the NHL/NHLPA First Shift could be the hockey program for you!

Face Off for Fun Hockey Camp

Ages: 3–9 Years
Dates: September 1–3
Time: 3:00–3:45 PM
Cost: $34

Give Goalie a Try Session

Has your player ever talked about trying goalie? Maybe they’ve watched a teammate put on the pads and thought, “I want to try that!” Well, now is their chance!

Sooke Minor Hockey is offering a free, no-strings-attached Give Goalie a Try session on September 1 and 3 from 5:30–6:30 PM at SEAPARC, led by Leighton Williams Goaltending.

There’s no commitment and no expectation to become a goalie. This is just an opportunity to get on the ice, try the equipment, have some fun, and see if they enjoy it. Players can come to one session or both, and we’ll have a few sets of goalie equipment available to use.

Cost: FREE!

If your kid has ever thought they wanted to try it out, there is no better time!

Please read the information carefully, as there is a location change between the classroom and on-ice sessions.

Classroom Session

Location: Sooke Community Hall – Meeting Room
Time: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
On-Ice Session

Location: SEAPARC
Time: 4:30 PM–5:50 PM
Parents will need to drive their children from the Community Hall to SEAPARC after the classroom portion. The classroom session ends at 4:00 PM, giving you approximately 30 minutes to make the drive and get ready for the on-ice session.

Please make sure you plan accordingly and arrive at SEAPARC on time.
