The Metric 252 round is a progression challenge where archers shoot 36 arrows at a single, chosen distance to achieve a baseline score of 252.

Format and Rules
* Target & Scoring: It is shot on a 122 cm target face. Scoring follows standard 5-zone Imperial scoring: Gold (9), Red (7), Blue (5), Black (3), and White (1).
* Arrows: Archers shoot 6 sighter (practice) arrows followed immediately by 36 scored arrows (6 ends of 6 arrows each).
* Progression: It can be shot at multiple distances (usually 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, 60m, 80m, or 100m).
* Awards: To officially earn a club distance badge, you generally must hit the 252 score on two separate occasions. Lower target thresholds are usually permitted for barebow and longbow archers to accommodate for the lack of sights.

Key Details of the 252 Round Scheme
* Arrow Count: 36 arrows.
* Format: Shot in ends of 6 arrows (after a maximum of 6 sighter/practice arrows).
* Target Face: Full-sized 122cm target face.
* Scoring: 5-zone (imperial) scoring is traditionally used:
* White = 1
* Black = 3
* Blue = 5
* Red = 7
* Gold = 9
* Badge Requirements: To earn a 252 badge, you must achieve the target score of 252 (or your bow's target) on two separate occasions.

Scoring Targets by Bow Type
While recurve archers aim for a 252, lower scoring thresholds are typically applied for other bow disciplines to achieve the badge:
* Recurve: 252. Olympic Recurve with sights
* Barebow: 225
* Compound: 280
* Longbow: 160. And Traditional Recurve
