Tank 4... I haven't had a day off in like 2 months so I've been a little slow at this. But this next person probably has no idea that he was going to get on this list. He's not a certified diver but he did talk me into going for a dive in the Dominican Republic when he invited me to his wedding. In 2017 I got a last minute invite to go share his and his wife Carol's amazing wedding with a really cool group of Awesome people. While we were there there was this crazy Irish prick that worked at the Riu whose job was to sell diving trips to the people at the resort. I was the only person in the entire group who is actually certified to dive at the time, but it wasn't my idea to go diving. That Irish Hustler hustled that entire group into a dive day and the groom talked me into going with them. This day would mark the day that would change the trajectory of my career within a couple of years. As much as I love diving I didn't go every chance I had because it's an extremely expensive habit and these dive resorts charged extra. We went diving that day and snorkeling and then lunch on the beach and a little bit of shopping and it was awesome! . It was a full day Excursion... it was such a great day and it made me want to take my diving to the next level and rejuvenated my curiosity for the underworld.

Ken Soderberg.. if you didn't invite me to that wedding I would probably be in a different place today, doing a different job and probably be a lot more miserable. Thanks for dragging me along with you on that trip and thanks for talking me into going on that diving Excursion. You sir will be named on tank number 4 in Superior Diving Services tanks of Fame forever. You are a great guy and you're the only one of my friends from Canada who came to visit me when I was doing my dive training in Costa Rica. I love you buddy, I look forward to the next time I run into you.

Tank #3... Let's keep this ball rolling...

During that trip to Mexico, my Mom brought me to a little shop called Pasqual's Dive Shop in Cozumel. Pasqual was missing a finger and I think they told me a shark bit it off.. I'm sure they were joking.. 😬

My instructor during my training made such a lasting impression on me that I made sure to find him again when I went back to Mexico in 2013 and get him to take me for a couple of more dives. He grabbed 2 dive masters, a boat captain and took my then girlfriend and myself out for a private tour and what a great day it was. As my teacher he was very patient, thorough, and overall I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. He helped plant the seed that created the love for the underworld that I have today. I've carried his name in my wallet for over 30 years now and look forward to going back to dive with him again soon. He was responsible for me during my first underwater breaths and will always be a huge part of why I love diving so much.

We finally got some White's Dry suits in to our rental Locker so that we can start offering dry suit courses. Just more awesome stuff to add to our repertoire here at Superior diving services. The only full service dive shop in Sault Ste Marie. Give us a call or stop in and see us.

Well here we go! Tank #2. And the only reason this person gets tank 2 is because tank #1 no longer exists. In March of 1996 while in Mexico, I was shipped off to a dive shop everyday for half of our vacation to get my PADI open water certification. The real reason was likely to keep me from ruining the trip by fighting with my sister everyday 🤷😁.. Always an adventure seeker and coming from vacation every year with another scuba diving video for us to watch, she decided she wanted to share her love of the underworld with me. I was 15 years old at the time and would have never thought 30 years later we would save the dying dive industry in the Sault. She was the one who got this ball rolling a long long time ago and is the very first reason I inherited such a love for diving.

For all these reasons and many more, my Mom (Patti Jones) gets tank number 2 here at Superior Diving. Thank you for all you do and have done. Thank you for making me go get my PADI Cert all those years ago. Superior Diving Services wouldn't exist without you! ❤️❤️❤️

Rounding up some gear for my students today and it looks like a little part of one of the most experienced divers and instructors Sault Ste Marie has ever had will be coming with us. Not only is he one of the Sault's finest in the diving industry, he was also dive team leader at Sault Search and Rescue for years, and is a genuinely awesome person who has been extremely supportive and helpful to myself and Superior diving services from day one. Thanks Marc for all you do!

At Superior Diving Services, our students are not just customers. They become our diving family! We love seeing how enthusiastic our divers are to continue diving as much as they can. Amy, your buoyancy, trim, and respect for the creatures and artifacts in the water is amazing. Your selfie Skills? eh we'll work on that... :D We had an amazing dive yesterday and look forward to many more.

At Superior Diving Services, our former students never have to pay to come diving with us when we go out. And air fills are also free. We love seeing our former students in the water and forever honing their skills! Happy diving everyone!!!

I approached a company last year about their dive lights and I was left skeptical at first. This company contacted me this year and I have to say that any company that stands by their product enough to send you a free sample to try out before you buy is definitely worth taking a look into. Orca torch called me up and offered me a free Orca7 to try out. It shipped out right away and got here fairly quickly. So far I'm impressed! It comes in a nice case, a bunch of different colors., a couple of spare O-rings, usb-c charger, a wrist strap and a warranty. It comes with two batteries as well so you can always have one charged up. This will be coming for a dive with me this weekend and I will be updating everybody on how this thing performs. It boasts 3,000 lumens with two bright settings and an SOS setting. Stay tuned.

I have decided to do something really cool this summer. And over the next little while there will be updates as I do it. Putting our business name and numbering our scuba tanks seems kind of boring alone. So I've decided that over the next little while I will be adding names to each of our shop scuba tanks. I will update each one on our page with a little story about why each of these people are going to have a permanent name in my dive shop. They will be named after people who I have met along my diving Journey, people who helped me get to where I am today, people who have left Lasting Impressions on me throughout my journey. Stay tuned.
